Yes, believe it or not the male population outnumbers the female population in the country by about 500 000. According to the the National Population and Family Development Board statistics, there are 13.3 million males as compared to 12.8 million females last year.
Yes, ladies you have it. There are more males than females! Next time a guy asks you for a date, play hard to get. He is desperate as there are just too many of them for so few of you 
Set rules and pre-qualifications. Make sure he keeps his nails clean and he wears clean socks. Otherwise no way! Make sure you insist on a establishment that costs a bomb for a simple dinner. ( to show his sincerity ) . Make use of this statistic to frighten him when he seems reluctant
This statistic is a foregone conclusion in a country like Malaysia where parents generally prefer to have male offspring supposedly to take care of them and pass down the family name to the next generation.
But based on my observations, it is the ladies who have shown the most love and care for the parents as they enter their golden age years. This brings in another issue…..care for the elderly and infirm…but another time, another post

Don’t be too happy ladies….. that the male population is more than female…. the percentage of “Lau Ah Pek” could be more than “Sia Lian Lang”.. so the ladies must still choose wisely.
