Anita Sarawak, Edison Chen, Frances Yip and Maria Cordero entertain children at Genting

GENTING HIGHLANDS:
Children, from five charitable organisations met Francis Yip, Anita Sarawak, Maria Cordero and Elison Chan at Genting yesterday. There were also festive delights including turkey, pizzas and cakes.

They also had a chance to sing with the great stars although it was just for a few Christmas carols They had a lot of fun playing games too.

As for me, there will be no Paris Hilton or Julie Andrews to accompany me. Paris Hilton to keep me warm and Julie Andrews to croon for me while I am with Paris but….it will not be a quiet Christmas. Tonight I have been invited to a Christmas concert and tomorrow I will be joining some friends to go quite far into the interior to celebrate Christmas with the residents of three longhouses. It will be a great event and I will share those pictures with you.

Miss Calm and Collected is looking at me with a funny expression..I wonder if it is anything to do with what my kid just said, ” Daddy, why do you want Paris Hilton to keep you warm?” Sometimes, I think I should put a notice near my computer saying….do not come near or dare to read. :)

Prior to this, these longhouses had only celebrated Gawai Dayak or the harvest festival. This will be their first year to celebrate Christmas and they don’t have any precedent to refer to so it will be interesting to see what happens next . But it is an honor to be invited to join them.

Visits to the longhouses almost involves drinking…a lot of drinking but in this particular case…drinks will not be served . I don’t mind as I remember the last time I went in that direction, there was an accident. The roads are really bad and in some stretches…there are no roads but earthen tracks. During dry season, these earth tracks becomes seas of sand.
