Oh dear.. i feel so sorry for Benghui. what is happening to good manners these days?.. What kind of examples are we portraying as adults to these minors? Thanks for posting Benghui's expereince here. hope it would reach to those kiasu people and hopefully, it would trigger some conscience in them.

it is the same principle as queue jumping, they want the best for themselves

hi bengbeng :)

Parents being parents, they want the best for their children. However, 'chasing' Beng Hui (sounds like my own name...hehehehe) from his own seat is such a shameless way of doing things. That 'fierce' aunty must be very very OFF that day. I was shocked to read that parents are taking photographs of notes, assignments etc. Never heard of that happening in Kuching..hehehe.. Anyway, tell Beng Hui to be strong and what Anthony said is TRUE...
Only those with high EQ will survive because high IQ is not everything (my personal opinion)....hehehehe

Thanks for stopping over at my blog!

Anyway, about the kiasuism syndrome that is spreading like wildfire among parents in the society, we have to be prepared to see more and more young generation emerging adopting the same attitude soon. Cannot blame the kids because parents have been showing such 'good' example (i.e. reserving seats for their kids in school) to their kids since they enter schooling world.

I rather pity kids nowadays because they are forced to study 24/7 from 6am till the time they fall asleep. After school, they must go to this tuition and that tuition, then computer class, piano class, swimming lesson, etc. Thus everything is forced down their throat ever since.

*shake head*

In a nutshell, childhood is being ripped off these kids!

hi bengbeng, dont feel bad. this is a great opportunity to teach ur child how to handle these situations next time. tell him to stand up to the fierce auntie. give him the words to say to her. 'Sorry auntie, seats cannot be reserved.' and tell him to smile sweetly at her when he says that. haha. And sit there. See if she will lift him off the seat,if she dares!!!!

Its a sorry state that our country has turned into. Adopted kiasu attitude (though is it really the Singaporeans?) are so rampant many a kids nowadays are losign their childhood due to ultra competitive parents.

I swear to not deprive my little girl of a childhood...but can I do it?
