The grieving woman who is still grieving from the loss of her JKR husband due to a tragic accident now has this new grief to bear. Rumours has it that the family was upset they were not notified until it was too late. The police were notified by the hospital authorities.

She was trying to come to terms with her new situation in life when this tragedy happened. Totally unexpected.

In the meantime, panicked and worried families of the 18 students arrested must be having a difficult time coming to terms with what has been brought to light. There is a genuine reason to worry. If the police investigate it as a murder case, what will be the repercussions for the families concerned?

The 18 students must by now realize the error of their ways and in the fickleness of youth must regret heartily their actions for I steadfastly refuse to believe they intended their actions to go so far.

The pathologist revealed that the victim died of a chest injury from the trauma inflicted by a blunt force. Bintulu police chief Supt Sulaiman Abdul Razak said the post-mortem report showed that Matheus died of internal injuries caused by blunt trauma. There has been no further arrest.

Citizens of Bintulu in particular and in Malaysia in general must be wondering about the security situation in schools especially boarding schools. Ragging has been discouraged a long time ago but it still persists in small pockets until today.

The funeral took place today at the Christian Cemetery at Jalan Bakri Ting.

The principal of the school Rohani Daud held an emergency meeting with the staff and students yesterday but refused to speak to the press.

It is expected in situations like these, the state education department under the state director of education will have to wait for a report from the school before commenting on the case.

William Ghani Bina, from the Sarawak Teachers Union has been quick to come to the defense of the school urging the public not to over react but to think of it as an isolated incident.

I’m in Bintulu, what a shocking news! I really pity the mother. She must be working with Jepak Holdings considering that she is said to be working with a bus company. My condolences.
