I found the above slogans in Dr Mario Yoong’s website To me the fact he chose these slogans for his website tells me a lot about his character.
Dr. Mario Yoong is running for International Director Candidate 2008-2010. He was over in Sibu recently. A formidable candidate with a whole list of qualifications behind him that would leave a lesser mortal with wobbly knees.
When you get to know the persona behind the public image, you will then realize why his candidacy has so much support. He has the human touch. He cares for what he believes in. This can be seen from all the activities and projects he is involved in.
Dr. Mario Yoong was born in Melaka in 1940. He graduated as a medical doctor from University of Sydney in 1965. He is married to Lindia Yoong. They have 3 successful children.
Doctor Mario joined the Lions Club of Kluang in 1977 and as they all say , the rest is history. He has served selflessly all the way to the top
The list is very long indeed …all the projects he has carried out for the benefit of the community in Malaysia. This is not to mention the international activities he has participated in.
It was he who initiated, helped set-up and launched our MD 308 Website in 2004-05. This website was officially launched by International President Clement Kusiak and CC Allan Cheah in Penang. The website is currently being updated and still in operation.
He was given due recognition for his leadership and community services by the Johor State Government and was conferred the Sultan Ibrahim’s Medal (P.I.S.) by the Sultan of Johor.
His goal and focus has never been far from LEADERSHIP TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT. People joke that he is the Si-Fu for Lion Leaders as he has trained so many of them over the years. Many of them still call him “Si-Fuâ€.

P.S. I have yet to find PCC Ellis Suryati’s website. She is another worthy candidate, a lone female against Dr Mario Yoong and Lion Hong Khay Chai.

Only the most qualified in Malaysia have this one chance in sixteen years when Malaysia is allocated one international director post/seat in LCI.
