Bukit Lima Forest Reserve
On the way to Bukit Lima, we by-passed this place. As it was near high-tide, some drains were overflowing. We took shots of these happy boys playing in the drain.

I also drove them over to the Bukit Lima Forest Reserve. It is basically a green lung in town where people can get away from home for a while to have a long evening walk or jog. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to finish a round around the park.

We were greeted by this sign welcoming us to the place. At first they were skeptical..thinking it was just another playground. I remember recommending this place to Wuching once.

To avoid disturbing the local flora and fauna, visitors are only allowed to walk along the plank-walk: which I think is a good idea. Even though it was afternoon, it was surprisingly cool..maybe a psychological effect seeing all the greenery around.

I took this shot of this insect as it was frantically climbing up a web of its own-making. I was careful not to alarm it and used close-up mode. However I am not satisfied with the pic.

I don’t know why but I found this tree interesting

This river has very clean water. Occasionally the local Buddhists come and release fish, frogs and etc into it as a ‘good-deed’ to earn merit.

Some of the local edible vegetation found at the park. This particular vegetable is called midin.

This is a parasitic plant. It is very popular nowadays and can also be found in homes as it is a decorative plant. It adds an exotic air to a garden. Just hang it somewhere or place it on a fork of a trunk. It will survive. From the looks of my companions, I guess none were disappointed with our visit to the park ![]()
