STU ( Sarawak Teachers Union ) has urged all parties to give the police ample time to complete their investigations before further action is taken. There will be no cover up with the on-going investigation,†said Wiliam Ghani Bina who heads Cuepacs.
In the said incident, two teachers were alleged to have kicked and caned a 12 year old Form 2 student in the early hours of the morning until he confessed to smoking. The student has since changed his stand and has insisted he was not smoking. Read more »

I first came across the name Anne Frank when I was a school boy. It was an eye-opener for me as prior to that, I thought in my own small little world, the world was perfect. I had heard World War ll stories before, but the reality never really set in until I read the diary of this brave, young girl Anne.
Now, that I have found this new development, I just want to point out the link to you guys! A lot of water has passed under the bridge since I last read the book.
Let us all pray that the incident during that period of time will never ever repeat itself.

Flower shops are busy as Valentine’s day approaches. The new year is also keenly felt as giant onglai ( luck comes ) in the form of pineapples appear every where.
In Sibu, suddenly there are so many cars with different number plates. The streets are more crowded than usual and shopping complexes are busy. Almost all the timber camp workers are back. A sure sign the new year is fast approaching. Read more »
All’s fine and well in Bengbeng’s household today. Benghui is so excited. The Shaolin troupe is coming to Sibu. He absolutely insists on seeing their performance. He probably doesn’t even know what Shaolin means. All he knows is that his friends will ‘all’ be seeing it. He is a potential ‘kiasu’ ( afraid to lose sort of person ) in the making. I have to dig deep into my pockets but I have no heart to say no. After all he doesn’t ask for much from me anyway except for an occasional ice-cream.

We all paid a visit to the Sibu Benevolent Society Nursing Home. I was impressed. It was very clean. There were flowers and fruiting trees. But when I wanted to enter the premises I found my way blocked by an aluminium grill door. It was to keep them in rather than to keep visitors out.
