During Christmas we see Christmas tree every where. During the Chinese New Year season, there are no less seasonal decorations. They are meant to liven up a home and our labours remind us of our loved ones as we strive to brighten up the place.

A woman’s best though not last defense
It was about a week ago. I was with a friend at a night spot. We ate outside as it was smoky and a whole group of people were busy karaoke-ing. I was quite curious as to their identities but I didn’t want to seem rude and leave my friend.
Then, the door opened and a lady came out. My eyes opened bigger. Clad in body hugging t-shirt with shiny sequins emblazoned on her endowed portions, fancy necklace around her neck and a short, tight skirt. The new year being so near, I decided to do some Chinese New Year shopping. We decided to try the newest supermarket in town. It is at the same roundabout with Farley Supermarket.

The supermarket seen from the front. It doesn’t seem very impressive but the interior is like a Carrefore experience. Minimum attention to detail and interior decorating and maximum display space for goods. The interior decorating looks haphazard and spur of the moment with no central theme. Read more »

I bet it was a day Mosidi Sigai, 31, from Rumah Nibong wished he had just stayed at home instead of going hunting. It is the classic cho ho sim, ho kui chim or literally translated, do good deeds and be kissed by the devil.
In an effort to separate his dogs who were fighting, he accidentally shot himself. He is lucky he is still alive. Accidents do happen but when there is a firearm involved, the risks are enormous. Read more »

The woman at the heart of the case has had her remand extended by five days.
The young woman, surname Yek who worked in an entertainment outlet will have to be present in court on Feb 12.
Due to the woman’s death, she could face the death penalty if found guilty and the judge so decides it.

Three of the 18 students remanded after the murder have been charged at the magistrate court under Section 302 of the Penal Code read together with Section 34 of the same code.
Another 15 were released as the police had insufficient evidence against them. Further mention of the case has been fixed on March 28. Read more »

To the average man in the street, the proposal to consider a review of the retirement age is more than welcomed. Times are changing. In an average Malaysian family, nobody sits around at home. Everybody is productive: be it baby-sitting, ferrying grandchildren to tuition, doing housework, gardening etc. Read more »
