Justice for Labuan matriculation student
Imagine for a moment you have a son studying matriculation in Labuan. Late one night you receive an urgent sms appealing for help. What do you do? What can you do?
The father in Miri called his relatives in Labuan for help. He also called his daughter in West Malaysia. The daughter was resourceful enough to get a police car in Labuan to go to investigate. The relatives also went to the college to investigate.
The victim’s room-mate had called the college’s warden for help but his call was unanswered. The other students were too afraid to intervene as there were about 30 others outside the dorm. The victim was beaten up and then taken elsewhere still within the college and held captive. This definitely sounds like something from the movies. In fact it sounds so bizarre, it has to be true.
The father is now appealing for justice. His son is missing classes. The whole episode seems to have no conclusion. He doesn’t know if the culprits have been punished. How can his son go back to study there under these circumstances? He has a right to worry over his son’s safety. The whole episode seems to have been swept under the carpet.
After this article appears in the newspapers, it will be interesting to see what the various parties involved have to say.
But the scenario painted in the article is frightening. The father rejoiced that his son was furthering his education at the college. He had no idea the discipline there would be so bad.

What do you expect? This is Malaysia. A ‘Prince’ beats Malay girl. No Policeman wants to take report. Mongolian girl allegedly killed by policemen connected to a ‘political analyst’,whatever that is. Bloggers are liars, Minister of Mis-Information is reported as saying. Semua boleh.
