Farewell Kota Kinabalu,Hello Sibu
So happy to be home. I don’t think Benghui missed me. When I arrived, Bengbeng and I had to go look for him. He was occupied.
I bought these things. Strawberries. RM5.00 for 8. Bengbeng said it is so expensive. In West Malaysia, it can bought at the supermarkets cheap. The 2 avacados cost RM4.20. The fruit basket cost me RM100.00. We already have one. Bengbeng asked me to buy another to make it a pair. I have checked. It is the same size but the one he bought in Bali costs only about RM39.00 if converting from rupiah to RM. I look at him. He makes no sounds.
I bought a batik cloth. RM22.00. Everyone was buying. I followed. Don’t know what I will do with it!
Benghui liked these chocs I bought for him. Bengbeng put it on the dining table for pic taking. In a second, benghui had already eaten two.
This is where I stayed. Hyatt Regency Hotel. It was a lovely hotel and I was treated like the mistress of the house. Service is just a telephone call away. The food was good too. I had to lift this pic from the internet because I didn’t bring a camera to Sabah.
This is Kota Kinabalu Mountain Park. It is a lovely cool place. I remember we had buffet there for RM20.00 or something like that. The flowers were beautiful. Great place for honeymooners. Most people were there for mountain-climbing. I wanted to go to Poring Hotsprings but my friends didnt.
Instead we spent a lot of time at Kundasang and later to see handicrafts at Tamparuli.
It is so ridiculous. Number of tourists arrivals are going to drop. What is MAS doing ? I wasted so much time flying from Sibu-Kuching-Kota Kinabalu via Sibu again of course although we didn’t land in Sibu. And then Kota Kinabalu-Kuching-Sibu. Just a see-see at a map will tell you what is wrong. Simply stupid idea. 2 nights wasted staying in strange hotels just because the flights don’t connect well. More expenditure.
I will never go to Kota Kinabalu ever again. Don’t tell me about Pulau Manukan. Or the beaches or the corals. Makes no sense for me to throw away my time traveling like this.
Not everything is about economics. Service is also important. To fly to Kota Kinabalu this way is like to fly from KL to Medan then fly to Penang when the destination is Penang.
Sibu-Kuching flights we were offered a small packet of salted peanuts and orange juice/coffee. Kota Kinabalu to Kuching - very ordinary chicken or beef bun ( cannot be made out ) - and juice/coffee/tea.

There is a place near the water front where the seafood is superb but the prices ;(
Went there during CNY last month. Used FAX airline. Only cost $9.99 direct flight from Sibu to KK. Did not even consider MAS.
BB: old habits die hard
no more MAS in future
I haven’t been to KK before… wanted to go but couldn’t find the time and $$$. Anyway, how about AirAsia, do they have flights to KK from Sibu?
I never thought of any other airline. I just called the regular airline contact I knew. I should have shopped around first for a bargain ticket. MAS is pricing itself out of my reach.
