In Miri today the buzz today is about the rage of a man in his 30’s who went amok. Amok from the dictionary means to be in a rage or a frenzy.

While we do not know what caused his rage, but it must be the mother of all rages. He set fire to his car, almost succeeded in burning down his own house and the neighbours’ houses and caused considerable damage to properties. He went to the extreme for an Asian. He exposed himself totally naked to his neighbours.

I speculate he needs psychiatric counseling or is having mental problems. He caused an incident that will not be forgotten soon in this small conservative city. He was alone at that time. He caused damage to properties estimated at RM50 000 and it included his neighbours properties who were furious. He also smashed the front screen of his neighbours’ car and the windows of two houses in the neighbourhood, including their flower pots.

The neighbours were shocked and initially locked themselves in their houses. Police who went to the scene practiced restraint and the situation was quickly diffused. He was taken to the Miri Central Police Station lock up. Miri police chief Supt Abang Abdillah Datuk Abang Othman when contacted said in this kind of case, police would normally refer the victim to a hospital for treatment.

Transvestite goes on a rampage
