Blood is thicker than water as reunion proves while religion and race is set aside.

I heard this a few months ago from a young foochow lady, a very young foochow lady, barely 16-years-old and charming as can be. She was looking bewildered and I asked her why.

SYT : i still can’t believe it. We received a call, many calls in fact from friends and relatives. It was in the papers. Someone was looking for us. Our family was bewildered. We had a family conference and decided to call the number listed in the paper.

Work-place and the emotional environment

Last night, I went out with some friends and we had a heated discussion about our different working environments. For most of us, we spend most of our lives in our work place and carry thoughts of it consciously or unconsciously even after working hours.

How true is it that the average worker is unmotivated? What boosts morale or lowers morale? Coming back to last night, it was found that some of them were unhappy about promotional opportunities, company perks or perceived lack of company perks and others like mismatch between talents and jobs.

Pregnancy and the unwanted child.

For a woman, chastity is still a highly prized commodity. Even as little girls, they are taught to sit properly and behave in a socially accepted manner. Sometimes, situations get out of hand, but if there is no pregnancy the situation is still under control.

For Malaysia, values are rapidly changing and an unwed mother doesn’t raise as many eye-brows as it once did. But it is still a grave problem to all concerned. To the couple and their families and of course, the ugly gossip that follows.

I only wish they knew the whereabouts of organizations who are ever willing to help them. I suspect they know but how to divulge such sensitive information? As time goes by, it becomes harder and harder to hide the truth. They get terrified and often seek illegal ways to solve the problem.

Microwave chicken casserol rice

I knew something was wrong when Benghui climbed up on top of me, “Daddy wake up, wake up! Mummy had left the house to settle some urgent matters ( shopping for a new pair of shoes )

” Ah,ah what did mummy cook before she left? “, I asked. “Mummy said Daddy will cook something,” and promptly put a plate in my hand. I hadn’t even got out of bed but it was almost 9 in the morning. He had to be in Sunday School by 9.30.

I fed him with some biscuits and milo. He reminded me to cook something special for lunch.

Ingredients for chicken casserol. The only variation from my usual cooking is that the uncooked rice is fried with oil, garlic, salt and onions first. After that, put in a pot for cooking just like cooking rice. Add carrots, chicken, onions cut cross-wise so it will look like a circle, deveined prawns, mushrooms, thick black sauce, oyster sauce. Microwave 15 minutes.

Good samaritan robbed of RM100 000 car in Sibu

It has often been said people in Sibu are not like people in Kuala Lumpur just to quote as an example. What is the main difference? People in Sibu are still relatively more trusting and not wary of strangers. They are still willing to stop and provide assistance.

A man in his 40’s reported to the police that he was robbed of his car by three men in Sibu Jaya early yesterday morning. He was driving along Jalan Maju about 12 midnight when three men stopped him and begged him to send them to Sibu Jaya. Later at Sibu Jaya the men then asked him to hand over all his money but he refused. He scrambled out of the car and ran to a house nearby for help. The men drove away with the car.
