K. Parthiban-the new assemblyman for Ijok

K. Parthiban, 38, a former school teacher must be pinching himself to see if he is dreaming. For many years, the people in Ijok have always told K. Parthiban he would one day be an elected representative. it has now become reality. He never thought it would come true.
At a certain point in the campaign, it seemed the odds were against him but in the end he won with a comfortable majority.
In 2004, he had bought a bungalow in Ijok. He said, “I actually bought the bungalow to be closer to my siblings. Now, I will also be close to my constituents,†said the former schoolteacher, who currently resides in Kuala Selangor.
“I am tired but knowing that I’ve become the youngest assemblyman for Ijok is a great honour,†he said at the 13th Selangor MIC Youth Convention in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
He purportedly is shy with women.
