In a way, I should be grateful. No greater damage was sustained. And thank God it didn’t rain. There was a strong wind this afternoon or last night in my area. I have no idea. My oscillator flew off. The function of the oscillator is to keep the house cool. Apparently it worked because when I went up to the attic, it was cool and not warm. It works on the principle hot air rises. A fan oscillates when blown by the wind and sucks up hot air. Cool air then enters the house to replace the hot air.
We found it in the back garden under the mango tree.
I went up to the attic and this is what I saw, a gaping hole where the oscillator used to be.
There was no choice but to call for professional help. If it rained , I would suffer a greater loss. They climbed up to the roof of the car porch and from there to the roof. They made it all seem so easy.
They reattached it. Labour charges: RM60.00. Looks like my pockets have holes in them. So soon after servicing my car. Maybe I ought to fax to Wuching for some money. That loaded Melbourne guy with pockets full of ad money might charge me less than 50% interest a year 
A part of the roof is also destroyed but I don’t have the pic here. That will be replaced later. It covers the wet kitchen area/laundry area.
Staying in old houses requires high maintenance! If I had surplus cash, I would buy A NEW HOUSE but on the other hand if I had money, I would have sold off this house long ago. It however has sentimental value to me as are the fruiting trees surrounding it.
I see you have that too… It’s good to have it honestly since these days super duper hot… It does the job at night…

Yeap that thing works. We used to have that in our old house. I can’t believe it flew off. Strong winds are supposed to make it spin faster, no?
