Of dieting and vegetarian food

Mrs Bengbeng looked at me yesterday and said, “That’s it. You are definitely too fat now. I looked at the scale 70kg. We must go on a diet.” I look at her and realized the diet must be meant for her. I gallantly said, “Lucky you still look very slim dear“.

Mrs Bengbeng was as usual busy so I took over the daily cooking. On Wednesday night, it was instant noodles, Thursday and Friday, it was take away from KFC and Sugarbun. So yesterday, I decided to cook.

I want a low calorie dinner,” her majesty decreed as she looked very busy indeed at her laptop. “Something all vegetarian will do just fine. By the way, Mimi is coming so prepare her share.” Mimi is just 10kg overweight and loves food but hates food if you get the drift.

Anyway I boldly experimented.
1. Stir-fried taufu with small onions and black sauce, some
salt,dessicated onions.
2. Tauge ( bean-sprouts) with taufu, uncooked carrots, salt
and some garlic.
3. Some sambal with cabbage mixed with water to make it more
palatable for me and Benghui.
4. Kangkong ( water spinach ) dipped in hot water n removed. In
a separate plate, add oil, a little oyster sauce, salt and then
put in the kangkong and mix .
I improvised from ideas i read on the internet.

Final analysis:

Mrs Bengbeng ate everything except the sambal. I bet she was pleased she had more time for her work.

Benghui needed to be coaxed to finish his meal. It was like feeding him poison. He wanted meat or chicken or prawns. I boiled a few prawns n hid it amongst the taufu to tempt him to eat.

Mimi ate everything. The plates were empty and she was kind enough to help me with the dishes. Mimi is a beautiful woman with great complexion.

I just ate the sambal and touched a little of everything. Vegetarian diet is not my cup of tea.
