Look at my birdie
I couldn’t resist using that title hahaha. I had an unexpected visitor today. I have French windows facing out to the street. Today a bird flew in right smack into the glass door. It probably didnt realize the glass was there.
I heard my dog making a lot of noise. I was just in time to rescue it from my dog who was furious with the bird and anxious to kill it.
The bird was in a daze and unable to fly. Stunned I think would be a good word.
It is a beautiful bird. However I don’t know the name of the bird. Benghui wanted to keep the bird. I was told this bird eats nectar from flowers. Anyway after nursing it, taking its pic, I put it up on the balcony but it didn’t want to fly away.
I tried all I could but it was not in the mood to fly away. Anyway, I left it and half an hour later when I checked, it was gone.
Anybody can give me information about this type of bird?

Somekind of a kingfisher maybe right? But different colour from the ones we commonly see around here. Pretty.

And there’s another comment whch I want to reply. He/she asked me about the sound the bird makes. It is a pleasant musical note. Other than that, I don’t know how to describe it. dont know much about birds. But I think i saw them before, is it very small? anyway, it’s very beautiful..
the beak suggests that.. well it mite be a kingfisher like bernard said. once i caught an eagle, i called it the Alex’s bird

Definitely looks like a kind of kingfisher. Any smaller and it might be a kind of hummingbird even.
