I got myself a new computer

I had a friend come over to look at my computer and he said it could be fixed but as it was only Pentium 3, it might be near the end of its life span. Anyway he fixed it and I am giving it to Benghui as an educational tool. I will leave him the cd-rom drive.
newcomp
This is my new toy. I have bought a cd-writer,new Dell monitor, new cpu which works at a fraction of the time my old ancient computer used to give me.

laptop
I have told Mrs Bengbeng thanks but I will not be using the laptop she offered to loan to me. After all, I am very forgetful and leave things all over the place. I might even leave it in the car under the scorching sun, unintentionally of course. :)

However, Mrs Bengbeng told me she has another laptop so this Dell lap-top will be for ’stand-by purposes’.

Now, I just wonder when the day will come before we scream at Benghui and ask him to stop playing computer games and study instead! One week? One month?

Photohunters: Theme - shiny

photohunters2mo1

For this week’s theme, I chose this pic which I took in Kapit, in the upper reaches of the Rejang River, Sarawak.

Kapit is a very safe place with little crime to speak of. The woman wearing this jewelry was having breakfast with me and I was fascinated by her jewelry. She is a Lions Club member from Kota Kinabalu. She sportingly allowed me to take a pic of her jewelry. I think it fits the theme very well.

Have a nice weekend every body and thanks for visiting my blog :)

Razak Baginda did not want Altantuya Sharibuu harmed

The trial that has riveted the nation continues. However internet rumours of ‘a big figure’ involved seems further from reality now that the father of Altantuya herself has said that her daughter knew somebody in Malaysia. That somebody was named Baginda.

The private investigator hired by Razak Baginda has testified that Razak Baginda had no intention of any harm befalling her. According to press accounts of Razak Baginda’s side of the story, she was harassing him for money, They must have been close at one time for he made payments to her before.

Even a smile or laugh by Razak Baginda has become an issue.

Made its final sounds and died on me

I knew something was wrong when my pc told me my memory on D-drive was at a critical level. And then, it gave out on me :) . Sigh, sigh! perhaps somebody up there heard of me intending to go on a holiday alone without Mrs Bengbeng and wanted to keep me home :)

I now have a choice of buying a desktop or a a laptop. I have to decide soon, otherwise my blogging will have to stop.

I met a very interesting woman yesterday. She pulled my hand and looked at me and smiled with joy in her eyes.

Olivia: I am a mother. I am a mother.
BB: Congrats and I look at her flat 20 year-old abdomen.
Olivia: I already have two. Maybe tomorrow I will have another.
BB: It takes nine months, you know that?
Olivia: Nolah, it is my Japanese chicken. They are now laying eggs. They are white in colour. At first when i brought them home, my cat, Siau Pai wanted to catch them. She is used to catching mice. I scolded her and scolded her
BB: Your cat must be very smart.
Olivia: Smarter than my mother. My mother wanted to cook them for dinner.
BB: Oh..invite me over for dinnerlah. :)
Olivia: So badlah u Bengbeng. I scold my Indonesian maid but the scolding was for mummy but I cannot scold her directly. I said if you cook my chicken I will cry. i will not eat and I will not study.
BB: Wuah..you must love your chicken very much,
Olivia: My sister said to me to make sure my chicken study Mathematics and spelling. All the reporters will come to our house and i will become famous like Madonna hahhahhhahahha…giggle giggle. really, my sister so bad one.
BB: Your eggs have ehmm ehmm hatched?
Olivia : The chicken just lay eggs but don’t sit on them . i will teach my chickens to sit on them
BB: Don’t break them. Be careful!
Olivia: Of courselah. I no stupidlah ekkekekkeek. Bengbeng. You like my new hair? Only Rm100.00

My journey through the blogosphere

Blogging as a hobby
I received a meme some time ago but i can’t find it. Blogging is like suffering the symptoms of blogivitis. Mrs Bengbeng has commented I am with the computer more than with her. We had a discussion about it and so far, thank God, it is still ok between me and her :)

Blogivitis syndrome: I communicate with my wife sometimes through the blog
I find her support invaluable as she gives a second opinion, helps pin-point pic opportunities and even gives suggests blogging topics :) . It is unhealthy I guess but it gives us a chance sometimes to communicate thoughts to each other through the blog in a neutral manner. Once the topic is raised on the blog, we then discuss it in a frank and open manner when the kid is asleep.

Symptoms: I check through my spam just in case there is a rare comment there some where in akismet.
Recently, I have been receiving so many spam comments. More than 50000 up till today. Search items include Malaysian sex, Borneo sex, Sibu sex, prostitute, etc etc. It probably resulted from my blog post Sex in Malaysian education as part of the curriculum :) Sex definitely sells.

Symptoms: On holidays, I meet up with bloggers.
I consider myself fortunate too that I have met some of my favourite bloggers for example, Wuching, earlku, neo bernard, cely, irenelim, cincauhangus and yenjai. i consider it a privilege to have had the opportunity.

Symptoms: I take delight in visiting blogs and viewing pics posted by other bloggers and ask myself, why didnt i think of that hahahaha
I have also been receiving lot of of visits from oversea bloggers after joining photohunters. I recommend other bloggers to do the same. You will receive a lot of traffic and you will find their blogs very interesting.

Symptoms; My social life
I have recently made some new friends too. thomas - from reading his first impression page, i think he will be an interesting blogger but i will prefer to read his personal stuff rather than the academic stuff he intends to write :) and crizlai, and renewed acquaintance with che cheh. I am still trying to woo nyonya Penang.

Symptoms: take up my time and attention
But blogging is not easy as i thought it was. it involves a lot of hard work, visiting other blogs, giving comments etc. This has been my weakness. Due to internet problems ( read as….slow ) I haven’t been commenting much but i do go over and read. However as my blogroll gets longer and longer, it becomes more and more difficult. For that, please allow me to apologize.

Symptoms: think of ad money
Ads too are getting harder to find on PayPerPost. There are now , to me at least, less opportunities. However I will persevere on and hope you will continue supporting my blogs, celebrityfirst and ahbong

Have a nice day every body.

Ooops. For those of you who came in search of the missing girl post, I have received reports that she is safe and the post is an old post. Sorry. what really happened. My sincere apologies to all concerned.

Parenting and nosey busy body neighbours

Many years ago, I saw a neighbour’s son behaving weird. He was just 12 years old then. I discussed with Mrs Bengbeng as to whether we should interfere with regards to the boy. After much deliberation, we decided to wait and see. He would go to hide in a bush near my house and later come out looking stoned. The mum is famous for being loud and ‘rough’ and has a very young one to take care of.

Things got to the point where I had to interfere when he tried to stop a lorry in the middle of the road with his hand. The lorry stopped in time. No one was hurt but something terrible could have happened.

With utmost courtesy, we( Mrs Bengbeng thought it best we go as a couple ) called upon his parent for a visit and gently suggested to the mother that perhaps the kid needed more attention. Looking back, I realize now we did wrong. We should have told her point blank. She stood up and practically chased us out of her home. We explained why we came but she accused us of many things too @@%^$$ to be put in a family oriented blog like this.

I write this story ecause I heard today that the kid is trouble with the law. After dropping out of school, he tried to be a ‘big boss’, was beaten up and later turned to petty crime. Recently he ran foul of the law.

Parents. The children are our responsibility. Sometimes when people come to us with good intentions, we should thank them instead of dismissing them as ‘busy-bodies’. Do we know what our children are doing and where they are. Do we know them as individuals?

Are we missing out on their childhood? Will they one day look back and accuse us of not being good parents?

I can buy any woman I want to make me young

I tell you Bengbeng, how many businesses do you own? If you don’t have a very good source of income, you are nothing. The world is only for those who haves : not the have nots.

Can you travel to far-away places as often as you like, in the best style? Can you buy any girl you want without money? Look at me. I am in my 50s. I have been changing girls so often and my latest is a China woman in her thirties, still very beautiful and pliant to my needs. What more can a man ask for? Last night for about Rm1000 I enjoyed a woman for the whole night. I didn’t pay her that much of course. It includes the price of the hotel, liquor, night club bill and trinkets for her.

What does she get you asK? Of course she wants money. To me the money is peanuts. I can afford her and a few more like her. Why should I commit myself to anybody. Initially they always say, “Old flesh seeking fresh pastures to rejuvenate one’s self. I can last up to two hours in bed. In the end, they enjoy me instead. She is the present one but she won’t be the last.

Life is all about sex. What is the use of life without sex? What is the meaning of sex with the same woman every day, every week, every year. If I gave you laksa to eat every day, you too would get bored. You Bengbeng are a failure. You will get old very fast unless you find ways to increase your income, get a new woman every now and then. If you cannot afford to buy one, rent one for heavens sake !

He then leaves me with a contemptuous and pitying look.

The beauty and art in Buddhist culture

Most of us have been to places of worship and church artifacts and other church relics are piously photographed and preserved through the ages. For Buddhism, the religion itself has spawned some remarkable works of beauty inspired by faith in the beauty of Buddha’s teachings.
