After the recent stint in the Asian cup, the national team conceded 12 goals in a total of three matches. China bt M’sia 5-1, Iran bt M’sia 2-0, Uzbekistan 5-0. Many reflect on the glory days in the past where Mokhtar Dahari, Soh Chin Aun etc were keeping the fans excited and cheering the national team.

About 200 people turned up out of curiosity to view the couple, Ong Chee Leong, 29, and Jess Teh, the mother of Yin Yin appear in court. Their remand has been extended by four days.

They were greeted with shouts of “animals” and “dogs”. Some one called Yin Yin’s mother chau cha boh (“evil woman” in Hokkien).

They were detained to help with investigations into the death of Teh’s three-year-old daughter.

Of faith and things that come in the night

I am not sure if this post will ever see the light of day. Some of you may be aware Benghui had an accident on Monday but came out unscathed. It made me question the very fabric of my life. How fragile and vulnerable we all are in the face of unexpected uncertainties in life. Suddenly, like a deck of cards, our carefully orchestrated lifes may crumble down all around us.

Santubong hosted the 10th Annual Rainforest World Music fest this year. There were record attendances from all over the world and some had to cancel their attendance because there were no more hotel rooms available. Some sources say there were even counterfeit tickets for sale.

However it was a grand event. Watch this video for yourself. Cool! Awesome! There was a variety of world music from Zimbabwe, United Kingdom, Unites States of America, Scotland, Lebanon and others.

When to let go

Benghui is now in Primary Year two. Slowly and gradually I am trying to encourage him to build up his courage and venture out at least slightly beyond arms reach of us.

I have noticed his social skills are improving lots. There are no more tantrums like the one he threw when wuching was at my house. His language skills are excellent and he asks more and more adult questions. I encourage him to voice out his thoughts.

Simple Chinese dinner for the novice

Today being Sunday, no posts to blog so I will share with you what I cooked. I am no chef. I am an idiot and a lazy man when it comes to the kitchen. So everything is very simple. After all, this is not a food blog :) hahahahaha. Anyway Sunday is Mrs Bengbeng’s day of rest.

DSCN3605
Ingredients: ready made kurma curry sauce, Ayamas drumets, bitter-gourd, an egg. Not in pic : tomatos, big onions

DSCN3608
Bitter gourd:
Put a little oil, stir fry some small slices of big onions, then bitter gourd. The key is to fry the bitter gourd on high flame for as short a time as possible to lessen the bitter taste. When almost ready, add a little water and then an egg. Stir fry the egg and the bitter gourd until it is cooked. No need to add salt or any other condiments.

Add oil, fry on low flame until the bottom of chicken pieces are cooked. Overturn the chicken pieces and leave until it is cooked. So simple. That’s what supermarkets are for. I used Ayamas chicken drumets

This is the meal.
Chicken curry kurma: it tasted better when I did it the original way. Using pre-cooked sauce in packets..it is not quite the same.
Left-overs from lunch :
Soup- chicken stock obtained from double boiled method, red dates ( ang cho ) , mushrooms, shredded cabbage dumped in at the last moment, salt according to taste.
Long beans stir-fried with eggs.

I think this is quite a complete meal. If I can cook this, any one can :) . When I was in West Malaysia, I noticed, most people have this culture of eating outside almost all the time. There are advantages to home-cooked meals. Economical, clean and lots, lots of dishes to wash hahahahhahaha.

Benghui was too busy at the computer to come over to eat. Any body wants a second hand computer? I must sell it because Benghui is obsessed with the computer nowadays :) .

Mrs Bengbeng is also almost always busy at her computer nowadays too. I can’t imagine what life will be like for my family if computers hadn’t been invented :)

Mrs Bengbeng is now complaining I am getting way over-weight. I definitely need to go on a diet hahaha
