Rev Ou Yang Wen Feng back in Malaysia
Aug 11 - Q & A time for people who are persecuted as gays and lesbians.
Aug 12 - Sunday Worship.
Venue: Grand Olympic Hotel, KL.
Co-ordinator: Joseph, 012-2087 949.
Ou Yang was a columnist in Sin Chew Daily. Ou Yang went to further his studies in the United States on the daily’s scholarship in the 90s. Rev Ou Yang Wen Feng has been back in Malaysia for about a week. His arrival home however has not gone unnoticed.
Some quarters evidently feel uneasy with his attempts to set up a church in this country. Protest e-mail and SMSes have been sent to Rev Ou Yang Wen Feng, a Malaysian pastor who serves at the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) in New York.
When googled, the MCC homepage revealed its role as part of an international movement of Christian churches reaching out to all, including homosexuals, bisexuals and transsexuals.
He came out of the closet about his homosexuality last year and is said to be the first pastor in Malaysia to do so.
Ou Yang says:
“The proposed church would serve all people, not just homosexuals. I am merely trying to set up a church “where everybody feels safe and welcomedâ€. It is unfair to label it a gay church. The hate-mail has hurt me.
This church is not limited to gays but serves all people. This will be an active church. We have so many community-centred plans, such as assisting the poor, charity work and upholding justice.
Many who attended my talk in Penang are just curious about me. They ask me many things about homosexuality and my life. They just want to know more and not to be converted by me.”
It is noted that he intends to return to Malaysia for good in 2010.
The National Evangelical Christian Fellowship Malaysia secretary-general Rev Wong Kin Kong:
One of the reasons for the emotional reaction is because Christians do not want others to assume they condone such a thing. The churches could not accept Ou Yang’s version of the church because it is clear that the Bible prohibits a sexual relationship between people of the same sex. If a person condones same sex marriages, it is definitely violating Christian principles. The churches had always welcomed all kinds of people, including homosexuals. It is the deviant sexual behaviour we do not condone. We cannot stop him wanting to set up such a kind of church, but the evangelical churches will inform followers of our stand and advise them not to follow this teaching.

he looks like he’s doing martial art
he looks like an actor or something but he is an ordained pastor
[...] Rev. Ou Yang Wen Feng back in Malaysia [...]

It’s a crazy world out there man!
BTW, cool new theme…
thanks. i am smiling. thanks.
Dear Sisters,
If the Rev. Ou Yang Wen Feng use to be gay or now is a gay, it doesn’t matter….what is the main priority as christian?
Every christian must do the Father’s Will mean share the Good News and Good Testimonies to everyone on the coming of Christ…we must go back to basic and not advance (in the Book of Hebrews).
If Rev. Ou Yang didn’t do the job for God, he will be judge personally by God and not us judging him. Never forget, we have the spirit of discrement to reject if you don’t find the doctrine is wrong.
God Bless.
Ou Yang, if you’re there, it would be good to make contact… I am Christian (with an evangelical background) and I have a wonderful partner. I have a powerful story which I feel ‘gagged’ by much of the Christian community… I’m encouraged to hear of your ‘coming out’… I have a heart for Malaysia……
Why dont u try the coordinator’s number on the post? I have received so many searches for Ou Yang and even received emails for queries. Seriously, Mr. Ou Yang if you can read this…I think a lot of people are waiting to hear more from you….some in fear..some out of curiosity but they want to hear about the changes your setting up of a church might bring.
Wonderful news…..all encouragement to Ou Yang Wen. I used to preach in Malaysia quite a lot myself. I loved the people, the climate, the culture and of course the food. Best satays in Asia.
I too have had to do the journey to resolve my faith and sexuality.
1000’s of gay men and lesbians around the world are realising that God loves us the way we are. For too long the church has equated homosexuality with immorality and judged people becaue of their sexual orientation.
My morality is a choice my sexual orientation however isn’t.
if there is any way we can help then let us know.

Anyway, I decided to dish out all my questions out for Rev Ou Yang to answer. And I believe a lot of you would like to know more about him, his life, his stance, his ministry and his beliefs. So I am opening up this topic into an interview. If there are any of you out there who wish to ask him anything at all, please e-mail to me at choe.vivian@gmail.com, stating your name or group, where you are from and contacts. Annonymous people would not be entertained. I have my own life to live, so please only ask important questions. If you wish to have a private conversation with him, you can also e-mail to me, and I will pass the word to him perhaps have him contact you personally. God Bless.
Shalom to All,
I am not supporting gay/lesbian church especially our brother Ou Yang is planning to set a church here in Malaysia. It doesn’t matter to me, is between God and him.
Only God can judge him personally whether he follow the commandment of God and saving people life (salvation). It is up to him, how much he can influence to the christian people and his teaching too.
If any churches from difference denomination or non-denomination or even the christian bodies attack or pull him down, I believe that bro. Ou Yang is well-prepare for the prosecution as he should understand the discipleship is not easy to carry…it is not doing it for the fame, power or wealth.
If anyone of us, feel that the church is teaching is wrong by using the spirit of discernment and peace in the heart…you can reject it immediately. Many of christian never know how to use this spirit…it is a long way to build it.
Regards,
Pastor Nineveh H S Kok
