‘Thieves’ aged 3,5 and 7 arrested in Kuching
When the MPV came back to the police station, there were amused smiles. The police had arrested five suspected thieves accused of stealing from a sundry shop at Jalan Semaba, here. The oldest was only seven-years-old and the youngest a mere three-year-old.
The sundry shop owner said:
They would come in and take things without paying and run off.
(She had grown tired of their antics and had them arrested so that their mothers would know what was going on.)
At the police station, the mothers shouted at the shopkeeper and scolded her for lodging a report against their children. The media was threatened with kicks and slaps if they took pictures.
Apparently, the mothers had no idea what the children were doing as they would wander around the area by themselves during the day.
Final result:
The parents were given a lecture. The seven year old reduced to tears. The other children did not seem to know what was happening.
What is your opinion on this matter?

Weiho, BB, I thought I go to wrong blog, u got a new look! Cool man!
thanks. nice chatting with u
First of all, nice template! I guess if this is a true case, the the owner should have tried to talk to the parents first before calling the police. Obviously the police will not arrest these kids for stealing.
police had good intentions and probably the shopkeeper too.
Those mothers should thank the shopkeeper. Those kids really bo-ka-si. Shame…
parents were probably too busy. not an excuse though
tsk….overprotecting mother without considering facts. i wonder why there are such ppl like that. if their offspring makes mistake, then correct them in front of everyone lar. this will shows that they are responsible parents. but in this case, the mother goes around scolding ppl…somemore in fronts of their children. then what will the children learn? can steal or do any bad things and ppl should let them off hook just because of their young age? then later older liau how? *slap head*
she shud thank the woman
Well, it’s easy to say about other people but when something happens to our own family, that’s when we know our true characters…
kids have their own minds..they have to make their own mistakes but the parents have a role to play in this
Parent is responsible for their children action,
no excuse lah
I think the shopkeeper was right to report to police as perhaps he doesn’t know who the mother was.
Parents should definitely be held responsible for the kids, especially at that age. Imagine, argued with the shopkeeper somemore, she should begged for forgiveness, in my opinion!
The parents weren’t even aware of the whereabouts of their children. What a mess! The shopkeeper had every right.
