Of chrysanthenums, recycling, old folks and moon cakes
I had a very busy morning. Early in the morning, I took Benghui with me to the Sibu Benevolent Home . It is a home for old folks. My intention was to show Benghui the concept of old age.
Bengbeng; Everybody grows old. When they grow old, they need people to take care of them. Now daddy and mummy take care of you. Next time, you have to take care of us.
Benghui : Yes, daddy. Like grand-dad and granny.
( He was so sincere and direct my heart almost skipped a beat. This boy is not kidding. He means it. )
There were lovely chrysanthenums in bloom at the centre. Some how the flowers seemed so appropriate for the centre.
Pic here shows Benghui handing over moon cakes to an elderly inmate at the old folks home. He felt great after the whole exercise.
After that, we went to send old newspapers to be recycled. In Sibu, we send them to the Sibu Kidney Foundation. Then they are sold and the funds help with the funding for the project.

That’s very thoughtful of you to teach him young and well =)
i am concerned abt the
terrapin issue
because we live in our house the three of us only, he misses out a lot. i want to give him exposure slowly to the real world.
Wow, how many of us parents thought of showing our kids this when they were young–er.
Great job, Bengbeng. Could you just turn up at the home with Benghui to show him around?
My kids came with me to see my grandmother when she was in a home but I never thought of explaining to them about the home. I just assumed my children knows the concept.
we had an appointment
Hi, thanks for stopping by. You can use any tomato sauce if you don’t have Filipino style sauce
Ok, i will cook it
