Cafe Cafe Sibu and jiu hu char

Today being Sunday, I thought of cooking but a friend, Samuel turned up. He called me and I went to pick him up at the wharf.

The pic is too dark. I am sorry.

cafe-cafe-sibu

We had lunch at Cafe Cafe. It looked deceptively simple from the outside. Entering it was a complete surprise. It was not crowded and pleasantly decorated. It is housed in a very old shop house but they managed to maintain the beauty of the original structure besides providing very nice ambiance. Even the toilets and the washing area deserves full marks for its deco and cleanliness.

jiu-hu-char

We had jiu hu char. This simple nyonya food was great and cost us RM12.90. It is eaten wrapped in cabbage leaves, together with onions. Value for money!

chicken-kapitan

Chicken kapitan RM19.90

This chicken kapitan was ok. Perhaps it would taste better if we had come later in the evening when all the spices had really soaked in. As it was, the chicken seemed to have come direct from the wok.

A must visit for Sibu people when they occasionally need to splurge for good food without spending too much.

flower

This last pic is a flower I never knew existed in my garden. I thought it was some grass and I ignored it. Suddenly today, it bloomed :)

A common flower, but it is a beauty, isn’t it?

ahhh, pretty flower bloomed to tell you that i’m not just a stupid grass in your garden :D

and nice lunch! looks a bit expensive to me tho haha… waiting for my chance to go to sarawak :P

i think it is actually cheaper than it would b in Penang for example :) I remember eating the same thing in Bishop Street or something like that for two and it costs me RM60 plus and the portions were much smaller. Here I paid RM32.00 for two including rice and it is a much better establishment

By the way, check out my new program EasyPic which enables you to resize big photos into smaller ones. What’s more it allows you to put your blog url/etc on it. It’s small and easy to use.
