Are you good husband material?

BBC-Macho men ‘not seen as good bet’

If you are single or even if you are attached, this is good reading material. A study has revealed that women do not see macho men as good material for a long-term partnership. Women instead prefer those with more feminine features.

Children and academic progress

I hang my head up in shame. I have finally done it. I never thought I would do it. It is wrong but it came out of my mouth. I will have to fulfill it.

Leng ngau chicken soup

I cooked another instant soup today. It is so easy. Just dump some chicken pieces, leng ngau, ang cho ( the red thingy ), mushrooms and optional some spring onions after it is cooked for garnishing. Salt according to taste.

The soup. Verdict : sweet and wonderful flavor. I used free range chicken. However any kind of chicken will do :)

Photohunters theme: Row

photohunters2mo1

This week’s theme is row. As a child, I lived in this row of link houses whenever I visited my relatives. It is most unfortunate however that these pre-World War ll houses were not well maintained and when the houses decayed, doors and windows were replaced with modern ones which detracted from its beauty. As you can see, the modern grills etc clashed badly with the original structure. The verandah which you can see is where I played tag, hide-and-seek and the back alley of these houses was where I played marbles.

For the benefit of Penangites, this road is Jalan Sri Bahari, somewhere off Transfer Road and near Odeon Cinema.

This second pic shows rows and rows of flowers presented to The Lord Buddha to show devotion of Buddhists.

Penang Char Koay Teow and the new father

What a great way to start the day! :( I am hungry and ordered some fried rice. Then I went to Judy’s blog and saw her post on cooking. Suddenly the fried rice seems so ordinary now :(

But things are not that bad. The Penang char koay teow I had last night was wonderful. From now on, I don’t have to fly to Penang to sample it. It is just as great as Siam Road char koay teow but there is no pork involved. Flavored with fresh sea-food and put on a circular banana leaf base.

RH Hotel and Rush

What a day I had :) I guess you can’t blog for long without some feed-back from the community. Night life in Sibu was read by some in Sibu I guess. This means that I am not totally writing to some great void out there. I received an email from a friend about this post. From that, things just moved on. I was invited by some friends who wanted to share night-life in Sibu with me. I was invited to spend a few hours with them.

Monkey on board

What do you expect when you board a flight? You expect to see flight attendants, fellow passengers, maybe a peek through the pot holes occasionally, a free drink or some on-board food. And of course you expect to see a monkey…….what!

This is what passengers were horrified to find on a flight from Lima, Peru to New York. A monkey? It baffles me how he managed to smuggle it on board undetected…maybe next time, I will smuggle Benghui too…save money. If I pump iron often enough, maybe I will be able to smuggle Mrs Bengbeng too on top of my head hahahahahaha.
