We had a gathering today. Mostly men and a single woman. The topic went to men and their role in a modern home. The question was: Is the man still the king of his castle?
MingXin: I am not sure. I have to ask my wife.
Paul : I don’t know if my wife will agree with that.
Daisy: I was told even among the mafia, the Godfather is under the thumbs of the real boss: the Godmother.
Arthur: I am too busy for all that stuff. I just pay my wife money every month.
Dennis: Whatever also canlah. I dont want to look for trouble. This morning I gave her RM300.00 to buy herself a birthday present. I am not sure if she was offended.
Daisy: Men shirk their duty as the king of the house and the poor wife has to assume their duties. That is why there are problem kids
Andy: God is the king of my home. To me, my quiet time with God is because I love God and not a duty. I wonder what my wife will say if I go upstairs and tell her, ” Dear, I am talking to you because it is my duty,”
Valentine: She alone knows where my children are. She always knows where I leave my keys and my wallet.
Kong Hua: We men must reclaim our kingdom. Take back the power from the women in the house. Excuse me, my wife is on the phone. Yes, huh where were we?

22 For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. 24 As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything.

jesting a little perhaps here but there is some truth in it too 
We men had been thrown from our thrones long time already. From the time we swallowed our pride to woo a lady to becoming her slave after marriage. What can do? They will just ask you, “You think giving birth is an easy job ah? Go and find others doing it for you!” Then, you are speechless, cannot fight back!

Both also equally important.. Husband and wife also work. So both must share the burden to take care of home..

Actually before this is an important verse that gives proper context on why we should do this:
vs 21: “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” which means that a Christian couple to do so in respect to God.
Also remember that husbands are only worthy of respect and submission from wives if they love their wives in the first place.
Another part is, see how this seems like a commandment from God, which means that wives and husbands have to do what they are supposed to do even when they don’t feel like it or the other party isn’t doing their part.
This means husbands must continue loving their wife even if they don’t submit to them, and wives must continue respecting their husbands even if they are not being loved.

That’s why there’s a saying that goes something like this, “A General can handle hundreds of thousands, but he can’t handle his wife” haha
The verse you pointed out is also interesting. A slightly different point of view that I have learnt is, for a woman to truly submit to a man is very difficult, and the same for a man to truly love a woman. Now, take a step back, and think. It’s actually very true in many cases. By nature we completely suck in that…generally speaking of course.
