The Lion Monument
Day 3
After lunch, we left Mt Titlis and returned to Lucerne for a city tour. This included a visit to the Lion Monument-carved into a steep cliff to commemorate the Swiss Guards who lost their lives during the French Revolution. We strolled along Chapel Bridge and the old town hall.
We also had some time for shopping. But after converting back into Malaysian currency, I didn’t buy anything. I only bought a few cheap souvenirs for close friends and relatives.
We visited Bucherer, the largest shop for Swiss watches, and jewelry, and quality souvenirs in Europe. It was just window shopping. Few bought anything. Only a few loaded members of our tour did some serious shopping.
It was peaceful in Lucerne and we enjoyed our stroll.
The city wasn’t crowded even in the tourist places. Maybe it isn’t the season.
Look at the buildings. So neat and orderly. They preserve their historical buildings well.
We were lucky to be able to take this pic.
