Blackpomfret in orange sauce and cucumber fish ball soup

It is Saturday again. Time to rid my refrigerator of left overs. With the left overs, I cooked cucumber soup.

I had a small piece of chicken, chicken liver, some fish balls, 3 inch length of left over old cucumber. I cooked soup and added in some pepper, salt and sesame oil for the aroma. I also added some chicken stock-natural.

A blogger asked me why I always blog about my cooking when it is so common :) So, in this post I tried a more difficult one. Black pomfret in orange sauce. I marinaded fish in pepper, light soya sauce, sugar and teriyake sauce. I wait for it to turn golden brown and then remove.

For the sauce, I used corn starch, mixed vegetables, freshly squeezed orange juice, salt, some tomato sauce and oyster sauce.

On second thoughts I fail again. It is still very simple cooking. But never mind hahahhha. The family is fed. Benghui is watching TV and Mrs BB is hanging up the laundry. It is drizzling outside and I just praise God I have such a blessed life.

The taste: Mrs Bengbeng was astonished. It was like she said, ” Cannot imagine how a little orange juice can change the taste so much. It was meant to last the whole day but both the dishes were finished at breakfast. Only some rice is left over.

No vegetables were left in the refrigerator. Nor were there eggs. Empty :( Have to go marketing this evening.

My PR has dropped further to 2. hahha..if I drop further to PR 1 or PR 0 I will be back to square one. Doesn’t seem like such a bad idea after all :) I started blogging on 30th November last year. Soon it will be my first anniversary.

I have gained so many friends and earned some money too. It has made my family closer as we look for shots and Benghui camwhore.. life is good. Hope it is the same for you all, dear readers and friends.

Your cooking always amaze me. Although they may be simple but they take time and effort to prepare, cook and clean up.

Don’t worry too much about the PR. Cheers.

Wah, if my husband can cook Chinese meals for me, I won’t complain whether simple or not but sometimes simple dishes are the best.

Don’t change the way you cook too much because someone like me who has been out of touch with typical home cook meals get ideas of what to cook, ie if I can get the ingredients.

When I was a child, just plain fried pomfret was quickly consumed by my siblings and I with a bit of soya sauce. So, each time, fried pomfret is on the menu, my maid will have to cook something like 3 or 4 big ones for our family of 6 then. :)
