My little Bali themed corner of my garden

garden plan

Now this is what I have planned. A small garden for Benghui and me to spend quality time outdoors. The blue horizontal line and wooden blinds indicate extent of covering with awnings.

awning

wooden-blinds

slightly damaged concrete slab

Thus when I woke up this morning, I was worried to say the least. There was some damage to the concrete slab but still manageable. I mean it is not too late to fix the damage.

We wanted to lay the tiles this morning but the sky has been downcast the whole day. I postponed it to another day but it didn’t rain at all :(

tiles

The tiles have arrived. I chose full body homogenous rough exterior tiles. In this way, if a tile is chipped, the color will remain the same. I chose the colors muddy brown for the main piece and black tiles to line the concrete slab. The blue tiles are for my toilet. The sizes are 18in x 18in and 1ft by 1ft.

reading

Then, Benghui can sit outside and read and not hide in the house all the time. It is one way to keep him away from the idiot box. I will install a fan immediately above the concrete garden set.

Princess-Duran

I bought him this book this morning. He has ignored everything except this book. I don’t read Chinese. I hope this book will not be a bad influence. I cannot read Chinese so i don’t know the nature of the book but Benghui seems to love it.

i am very excited about this project as it is the first time I am involved in something like this. To think of something and watch it materialize. It is a humble project of course but it sure will make a lot of difference to me and Benghui. :) It won’t be long before he shuns me for friends of the same age. I better get close to him while I still can. He is not exactly my life insurance as I have made plans but it would be nice to have a faithful son returning home for the Chinese New year dinners.
