Happy New Year 2008 to everybody!!!
Don’t let anyone hold any part of your life hostage. Your life is YOUR destiny and no one has the power to judge.
For this week’s weekend snapshot I highlight an issue. it is a positive development in my town, Sibu. It used to be that jobs in filling stations were filled by young people. However with the growing affluence of the people, young people are now looking for better jobs. These jobs are now taken by an older generation. They help supplement the family income and help pass their time.
It is a win-win situation.
Happy 2008 to you all.

I beg to disagree. Young people today are over-spoilt and over-pampered. They don’t want to work at petrol stations…in the heat and having to work long hours. They would rather work in air-conditioned supermarkets and restaurants. According to the manager(ess) of one petrol station, after the public exams, some students may go to work…but they do not last a day or two. Complain, complain, complain…that’s all they do!…And what do they do when they get their first paycheck? Buy a new handphone! Go and dye their hair, looking like an escapee from Sepilok Rehabilitation!!!
This post is about DIY curtains for the house. First of all you need a curtain rod and thingies for the curtain hooks

Being Sunday, I took my family to the new shopping centre, Delta Mall. The location is strategic for me and there are so many parking lots though when all the outlets are open, that may no longer be the case. With the advent of Sen Q in Sibu, the prices of electrical goods are expected to become more competitive.

Today has been a horrible day. What a way to end the year. Really felt like packing my bags and leave . ( playing the role of a drama queen to the hilt

What happens when you are busy with hardly any time to breathe but your great buddy invites you to his wedding celebration? i would go, of course. I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Simon is my buddy. But the wedding guests bullied him terribly hahahah all in the spirit of fun. He was made to drink endless toasts, teased about the ending of his fabulous bachelor days etc etc etc. He smiled through it all. He was even asked to sing a song. ![]()

My first entry this week focuses on the dining table. I have noticed the restaurant staff always bring out the food deliciously displayed and we expect it to be like that. But we close our eyes to the condition of our own plates and dining table top – Messy
This entry shows my front garden after the recent floods. The furniture has been brought out to dry. I am also in the process of doing some minor renovations in my home. We left some newspapers out too with the furniture. The dog had a lovely time with the newspapers. In fact it went wild. Messy
A happy new year 2008 to you all.
Everybody wants to be a success. Most people dreamed of being a doctor. It is a glamorous job in the sense that there is glamor in helping people and saving lives. When we miss the boat, we hope our children will become a doctor and when they miss the boat and study IT instead
, we hope for their grandchildren
Benghui : Daddy, daddy. I have something important to talk to you.
Bengbeng: What?
Benghui: Kong kong wants me to be a doctor. He wants me to be a doctor like Uncle Bernard. I cannot. I don’t want. Because i am not a doctor. If a sick man comes to see me I don’t know what medicine to give. I only know my vitamins, flu medicine and fever medicine. I am so small. Everybody is so big. How can I be a doctor?
Bengbeng: You grow up to be a good man. Earn an honest living. Be a doctor if you want to when the time comes.
Mrs Bengbeng: Next time, if I am sick, I see you and save money.
Benghui: Money? Money?
A state of uncertainty has gripped Pakistan following the assassination of ex-Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Killed in a suicide attack, Benazir struck a colorful figure as she campaigned for what she believed in and across Pakistan. At least 22 people were also killed with her and there were also injuries reported.
Angry supporters of Benazir have taken to the streets to express their anger. President Pervez Musharraf has urged people to remain calm but it remains to be seen if he still has control over the supporters of Benazir who are angry and grieving. Security forces have been placed on a state of “red alert” nationwide.
Eyewitnesses: Ms. Bhutto had stood up through the sunroof of the white Toyota Land Cruiser. She waved at supporters who were cheering her. A “thin man” on a motorcycle, carrying an AK-47 rifle, fired two shots, one into Bhutto’s neck, and she collapsed, falling down into the vehicle. The assailant then detonated an explosive. Bhutto was rushed to Rawalpindi General Hospital where she died at 6:16 p.m. local time (1316 UTC).
Some analysts say this is a sign of the creeping “Talebanisation” of Pakistan. Radical Muslims calling for Islamic law, and fiercely opposed to the US, have become increasingly active in Pakistani politics in recent years.

P.S.: Just saw the news when I logged online that Benazir Bhutto had been assasinated. Basically, it is all politics but it stems from the Hindu-Muslim conflict that has plagued the violence-torn country since time immemorial. Hence, everyone should all see the importance to preserving peace and harmony in our own country and practise UNDERSTANDING & TOLERANCE among our brothers and sisters…regardless of race, sex or religion.
