Security system and burglar alarms

Character : 28 yrs old, 1.82m, lean and tall. Married for a year.

Benson : I wanted it all perfect on my wedding day. My house was ready. The wedding was planned to the last detail. I even had a jacuzzi in the downstairs bathroom. It was the perfect home.

Now, thieves have entered the house three times. We go to work early in the morning. By the time we reach home after work, the thieves would have had a day to do anything they want. At first they took away the easily stolen items like money and jewelry. We then removed our valuables. They then resorted to removing other household items. Window grilles are useless if there is a determined thief.

Yes, I had a burglar alarm after the first break in.The housing estate used to be empty so even if it rings, nobody would hear it. By the I reach home upon knowing of intruders in the house, it would be too late anyway.

Now that some of the nearby houses have occupants, we began to feel more secure in our home. Then we came home to see my wife’s expensive undergarments stolen. Some lingerie were at the gate obviously dropped by the thief perhaps while scaling the fence. The lingerie obviously had been tampered with.

My wife is now afraid of being alone in the house. I am no coward but security is a major concern. We spend as much time as possible within the home. We have invested so much money in the house. It has become our major investment.

A dream home can be a security nightmare if it is in a new neighborhood.

They keep coming back for more don’t they? Often thieves do this They figure they did it once, then they can do it again and again. What is most annoying is you don’t know if and when they’ll be back, so you’r constantly on alert :-(

Aren’t there burglar alarms that are linked to ur handphone??? One thing u can do is to leave the radio on…loud enough to be heard from outside the house. The burglars may think that there are people at home.

Sometimes all the security equipment we employed within the house can be ineffective and give us a sense of false security.I have that in my house as well.

The best security one can have is your trustful dog. We have one and he barks every time anyone walks pass as if to say, “Hey, I am here guiding the house, so keep out”.

Then again, a dog can be friendly enough to let anyone in. It is a catch 22 situation.

Heh heh, my dog is not that clever, even as a border collie, to “guiding the house”, he meant to be “guarding the house”
