Exotic meats in Selangau,Sibu- weekend snapshot
I want to share with you pics from my lunch yesterday. mylongkang.com is almost getting to be a food blog
I have been eating out almost every meal.
The following meal was from a restaurant in Selangau, an hour drive from Sibu.
A passer by saw what we were eating and squirmed. He asked us if we would be eating dog meat next?
I draw a line at that!

my grand uncle have a shop there, and we had it all then, and do you know? most of that is protected species?
i had no idea..we sat down n asked to b served with the best on the house. only after the siert dish did we ask about the different dishes actually were. we were stunned n surprised too
midin with belacan is so tasty.. the rest of the food.. err.. i couldn’t bring myself to try it!! i tried wild boar and the ulat mulong. nice! the sago worm is very lemak
oh the fruit bat also i tried before. very ‘hot’ after eating it. good to eat before ’sexercise’ i heard?
this is like the best thing about sarawak. You have all these type of food. I know it’s protected la but for those who lived in the ulu area, these are the types of food that they eat. It’s very tasty also. Wild boar is one of the best. They have less fat than the one u buy in pasar one.
Tapah is one expensive fish. Not easy to catch also. We got lucky last time it got into our net. Usually in ulu places, they have a lot of this fishes.
I think the first picture might be labi labi (terrapin - I guess in english)
thanks. i have made the necessary changes
Haha… Almost eat every kind of meat liaw… Erm… Legal meat la…
But no rabbit ar? Aiyo…
midin is the best.
Exotic indeed!
Any chance of bringing me there if I visit Sibu next? I’ll buy dinner of course! Thks!
it has to be pre-ordered in big portions..i gather… something abt availability and supply …mayb if a bloggers meet or something..cannot order if portion is too small
Eh, I go back next week, we go there again. Even though I’ve tasted all the food you mentioned here, it’s been a loooooooong time since. Heheheh!!! This time we ask suituapui join us. Muahahahahahha!!!
Ooo…am I invited??? Can’t wait!!! Eyew…don’t fancy most of the stuff though. I love wild boar…the way I cook it. Normally, these people will add lots of ginger, lemon grass etc…and that kills the taste! So when are we going, Bengbeng??? LOL!
wait for clare to make the necessary arrangements. she always does. she says jump i jump. she says sit, i sit..suituapui u havent met her,…u dont know her yet hahahahahahahahha
Wah! She so terror meh? U like puppet on a string! I know Clare…as a student in school, though I didn’t teach her (Bless my lucky stars???) and I’ve seen her in church, I guess, and I know her brother; didn’t teach him either…but somehow, I seemed to know him quite well. Would talk a bit whenever we met! U know me lah…so nice, so friendly!!! LOL!!!
hahaha… i was only kidding abt Clare..Benghui adores her.charming young lady..but she organizes things just like the previous bloggers meet
That looks like an interesting meal. Good shot.
Yang penting the second one. Lama dah tak makan…
wow, made me straving, i haven’t have my breakfast yet
Cool. Suituapui, count me in. I wanna join also.
BB, aren’t some of these animals becoming extinct like the wild boar and terrapin? Some people here in the Philippines eat dog meat
Have a great week! M
