It has been a great morning. We visited the Planters Harvest fruit orchard. It was a beautiful place. The air was fresh. To reach there I estimated we drove about 16 km from Sibu.

Today’s post will probably be met with ridicule by certain quarters. Perhaps it was caused by the one full can of beer I had last night. But I believe I wasn’t drunk as I could publish this post last night before sleeping. I tried to comment on tnchick but couldn’t so I decided to go to sleep. Anyway, one can of beer isn’t likely to make me drunk.

What can be more traditional and old fashioned than a birthday celebration with friends and good food. No modern music or modern dances. These pics were taken a few hours ago at RH Hotel, Sibu. I was invited by friends to play host to Taiwanese friends and also to celebrate a friend’s birthday.

As Chinese new Year approaches, I feel little excitement. I haven’t done any new year shopping nor bought any goodies. Based on previous years experience, I should get about seventy to about a hundred visitors. At the last moment, I will get a bottle of liquor, a few boxes of mandarin oranges and some cartons of soft drinks. I have little inclination to do anything else unlike previous years.

Today I had to go somewhere to ‘observe’ a situation. But it was actually a ‘non situation’. Certain trees encroached onto another land owner’s property and this encroachment had to be stopped by the chopping down of some trees in a small forest if it can be called that.

Sibu Lanang Bridge

I was bringing a friend around town. He was in town for a few days. I brought him to Wisma Sanyan. I showed him the sights. I boasted to him about the beauty of Sibu. How it had the potential to be a great tourist attraction.

Recently a friend asked me to get some goods from him. He promised me a good discount. I asked him the price and he said, ” Never mind. I will give you a good discount ” That pleased me lots. After all friends are friends and we spend a lot of time together.
