Sometimes things do not happen the way we want them to. Unexpected things. Things we do not foresee and in spite of every precaution still happens.
For every body in a difficult or precarious position this comment I received might give you some comfort. Passage Psalm 145:18: The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Thank you. I will call upon that promise. It gives me courage to face the days ahead, tomorrow and many other days after that.
Are you feeling angry? Have you felt so much anger that you fear it may overwhelm you? Occasionally it is best to let it all hang out but it may not be appropriate sometimes. In our Asian society, every body ‘main topeng topeng’ or hides behind masks. Read more »
I have been told to rear some fish in this corner of my house. It is to ward off evil spirits and usher in the good luck. It is rubbish of course but who am I to question a feng shui ‘master’ Just please every body when I can is my motto.
Gold fish have low survival rates although their colors make them suitable as feng shui fish. Mrs BB is also adamant she doesn’t want gold fish again. They need very careful attention. She suggested we get Taiwan Red Parrot fish instead. Their coloring is correct. These three ( an auspicious number but nine is three times better ) fish are new arrivals from Taiwan. I hope they will be ok. They seem to be very scared of Oopi our dog. The dog is also very curious about them.
I first saw this video on Sarge Charlie. He is a blogger from the US. Drop in to say hello.
I have noticed the topic of conversation among my friends have changed. I found this video very funny. Just sharing with you and leaving it to you to think of your topic of conversation with friends.
Another day past. Nothing much out of the ordinary except I had the honor of bumping into monkey and donkey at Sing Kwong Supermarket, Sibu. He is a really nice guy and we do keep in contact now and then. My only regret is Benghui wasn’t with me at that time. He adores Monkey and Jam Read more »
I asked for strength
and God gave me difficulties to face.
I asked for wisdom
and God gave me problems to solve.
I asked for prosperity
and God gave me my body and brain with which to work
I asked for courage
and God gave me dangers to overcome.
I asked for Love
and God gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favours
and God gave me opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted
but instead, I received everything I needed.

Update: Thanks to Uncle Dee : For what it’s worth, the poem was written by John Newton, a slave trader turned pastor, out of personal experience. He is better known as the composer of the hymn Amazing Grace.
This is a pic taken when I was real skinny. The water was so cold I was shivering. My son picked this pic for me but Mrs Bengbeng said people would get the creeps because I look like a floating corpse
In the end, Benghui the same kid decided on a skinny monkey but it turned out to be a skinny kid Photohunters is fun and it has become a weekly family affair. We love it. Why don’t you join in?
I went to the bank to pay my credit card bill. The cashier told me my Rm50.00 note is useless as it is defaced on the ‘Agung Head’. I didn’t understand so i asked him to clarify further. He said he was just doing his job.
My Rm50.00 down the drain. My advise to readers : look carefully at each and every note you receive. If it is defaced, it will not be accepted by the local bank. I asked him if it was still legal tender. He gave a standard reply : I am just doing my job.
I know he is just doing his job. I need info on what I can do with this note. Can anybody please tell me what i can do with this Rm50.00. Don’t ask me to go back to Alliance Bank, Sibu. It will be just a waste of time. Some place where I can trade in this note for a new note or something? After all it is supposed to be legal tender and the serial numbers etc are all so clear nor is it torn.
Benghui has been very excited. He got to meet a blogger whom he reads wong. He is back in Sibu on holiday and when he called us out for ‘makan’ Benghui jumped on the opportunity to make an appointment for Sugar Bun.
Wongpk is a ’sucker’ for children and soon Benghui had him wrapped up around his little finger. I can see Wongpk will make a good father when the time comes. I didn’t have much time with him as tomorrow is a school day for Bneghui and Mrs Bengbeng’s get out of jail pass was only valid until 2115.
But we had a great time exchanging pleasantries and blogging tips. We will probably see more of him as he will be back until the end of the month. Blogging is wonderful. Benghui and I made a new friend.
