Asam pedas chicken curry with asparagus and Mrs Bengbeng left me

good bye note

Daddy, wake up. I am hungry. Mummy gone. ( Alarm bells ring in my mind. )

Daddy :What do you mean?
Benghui : Mummy left. Gone. Leaving. See this note.

I look stunned at the note. Mrs Bengbeng is leaving. Why would she do that?

Daddy : What else did she say?
Benghui : She said she is not coming back.

I tried to appear calm and wondered as to the reasons for this latest outburst. Has it been because of me spending time with a sweet beautiful young Sibu blogger? But Alex, Jienster, Suituapui, and Wongpk were also there. So was Benghui. She is like an adopted daughter. Have I been looking at other ladies while shopping with Mrs Bengbeng?

prosperity sign

She hung this sign upside down yesterday. I forgot to ask her why. Was this a clue I didn’t notice that not everything was going well?

bougainvilleas

Was it because I hadn’t done anything about the garden recently or

star fruit tree and mango tree

there were no starfruits for guests this year because I had neglected the garden.

chinese breakfastasam pedas chicken with asparagus

Puzzled I continued my cooking as Benghui has to be fed. The asam pedas chicken curry with asparagus was a success.

Then Mrs Bengbeng called. She was at her mother’s. Her mother had an accident recently and couldn’t walk well and with the influx of so many visitors due to the CNY season, she needed help with the house work. Phew..she is not coming back until late at night. In other words she is coming back! Phew. I feel guilty I had let my imagination run wild :)

I will tell her to write a complete message next time. One word notes are very misleading. Children too can say the strangest things. :)

The terbalik ‘Fu’ is intentional. Because in Mandarin, upside down means ‘dao’ which means return or arrive. So the terbalik Fu means many returns of prosperity or the arrival of prosperity.

Nothing to do with your wife leaving lar wei! You think too much, Bengbeng!
