Valentine’s Day is just another day for guys like me after so many years of marriage. We can express our love in so many ways and at any time if we so wish it. However most of us go through the motions when the day comes along every year.

Everything is going wrong today. I lost my camera during lunch today.
As I was blogging my previous post, Mrs BB told me my dog Oopi was missing. I went out to look for Oopi. It was dark. I patrolled the streets shouting ,”Oopi, Oopi”. Then I saw Oopi under a tree. After much name calling, gently I squatted down and called it again. It came to me. I started to carry it home. An elderly man came out of his house muttering something. I apologized for the noise and said my dog had run away. He muttered something but retreated from me.

Sam : It is not the same. I hate the new year holidays. I prepared some goodies but had no visitors. Every body seems to have visitors except me. I do not know why this is so. At a younger age, I made the decision to remain single. it didn’t seem a bad idea at that time. But it does get lonely nowadays.

Commenting on sounds of frequent police sirens and the visit by Prime Minister Ahmad Abdullah Badawi to Sibu:
He comes today. He will bring present. Make nice sounds. People take pics. He should have come on the third day of the CNY. Then we Sibu people can give him a present of our own. He can experience for himself the dirty, ugly swirling floodwaters we have to endure so often. Maybe if he knew, he would never dare to come back again. I am not correct huh? He is responsible for everything. I heard on the radio. He said he is still in control. ( havoc breaks out and everybody present bursts out laughing ) :)
In editing this post I don’t know why it seemed so funny that we all laughed but she has a valid point. This flooding issue has been allowed to drag on for too long. The government to give them credit are resurfacing some roads making them higher etc but most efforts are geared towards addressing the effects rather than trying to deal with the root causes.
Are there any viable solutions to this perennial problem?
I will miss my two house guests Bongkersz and Cibol very much.
The CNY is over. Tomorrow is back to work. Suituapui promised to treat us to lunch today at a few star restaurant. I just can’t wait. Anyway, I am too lazy to post. Last night we were at R&R and omg you would believe it was like business is going through the roof. The downstairs disco was omg the happening place in Sibu. The lounge upstairs was more sedate as it catered for a more matured crowd.

I had so many visitors today and almost overwhelmed with the serving of drinks and titbits. Fortunately or unfortunately I was hardly noticed. All eyes were on cibol the Bintulu blogger. Chinese New Year is a time dreaded by many singles whatever their age. This is because it is the occasion aunties and uncles will ask them when they are going to get married. Singles are not qualified to give ang pows thus indirectly lowering their status in society’s eyes. It isn’t so bad when one is aged 30 years and below, after thirty the anxiety goes up and after 35 one is more or less resigned to fate. However it is a depressing time as all the attention is upon the family unit and kids.
