Commenting on sounds of frequent police sirens and the visit by Prime Minister Ahmad Abdullah Badawi to Sibu:
He comes today. He will bring present. Make nice sounds. People take pics. He should have come on the third day of the CNY. Then we Sibu people can give him a present of our own. He can experience for himself the dirty, ugly swirling floodwaters we have to endure so often. Maybe if he knew, he would never dare to come back again. I am not correct huh? He is responsible for everything. I heard on the radio. He said he is still in control. ( havoc breaks out and everybody present bursts out laughing )
:)
In editing this post I don’t know why it seemed so funny that we all laughed but she has a valid point. This flooding issue has been allowed to drag on for too long. The government to give them credit are resurfacing some roads making them higher etc but most efforts are geared towards addressing the effects rather than trying to deal with the root causes.
Are there any viable solutions to this perennial problem?
