Photohunters:jungle ferns,dragon fruit and weeds

This week’s theme is twist (ed)

fern shoot

This is a shoot of a fern. It is just budding and twisted. I love ferns like this for decorating the garden. This is the second one I got. I spied upon it near a pig farm this week. It was up there on a tree just waiting for me and perfectly formed. I asked for permission and the owner was more than glad to oblige. We know each other for a few years already. He promised me two more next week. I am so happy.

garden fern

This is how the jungle fern looks like from a non close-up view.

dragon fruit

Another entry would be this experiment of mine : my dragon fruit. It is so twisted and stunted in its growth. :( It just doesn’t grow well in my garden no matter how much fertilizer I give it. Perhaps I might transfer it to another spot and just hope for the best? :)

orange skin weed

This is not relevant to the post. I noticed this weed while looking for pics for stunted in my garden. These weeds sprouted flowers that look like peeled orange skins. Isn’t it cool? Normally I would throw this weed away so I never saw the flower until today.

Very nice gesture of the man to give you those beautiful ferns :)

I think you will need a stick to support the dragon fruit. You might wanna get tips from those dragon fruit planters.

That’s what I like about ferns. The bud always curled up before it grows into a leaf.

Regarding the dragon fruit plant, it should be hung up under some shades and not too directly under the sun. Preferably if you could get a coconut husk with the skin still on it, slightly peel the side out and filled it with burned soil. It grows better that way. Unfortunately, the weather here is not quite suitable. Most people will get lots of leaves but no fruits in sight… LOL

Good luck in your gardening Beng Beng :)
