Learning Chinese language the easy way for children
Benghui’s Chinese homework-character recognition. You can hear him reading fluently in the background.
I have been going crazy. Benghui has been bringing his home work home. He goes to a Chinese language tuition school which charges Rm300 every three months. He enjoys the tuition classes. There are about fifteen students in each class and they read in unison. The work is graded from Book 1 to maybe 20 I am not sure. I only wish he practices his piano just as diligently.
After attending classes for five months he is now reading book 15. He enjoys the classes very much. He has learned a lot. The class motivates him although his grades in school haven’t shown much improvement. He will study by himself ( His teacher told him and whatever the teachers tell him is sacred. Forget about our influence as parents. )
Part of the curriculum in the tuition centre is language games and songs specially selected for their level of competency in the language. I have thought of stopping his Chinese tuition classes but he insists he is learning a lot. Some parents told me the results will only be seen as he grows older. The centre stresses on building a strong foundation rather than catering to school work.
This video was taken in December last year. He has shown tremendous improvement.

Learning chinese is important. I can’t read chinese words due to less emphasize on the language and my own laziness to take extra efforts. Now I can’t read any form chinese article. Just can write simple character and of course my own name. So pai seh. Ha ha..
in that case, we dont speak mandarin when we meet. tell me next time u r in town
Come la, I teach, hehe..
If you teach, I will not be able to afford yr services
Yes. Incredibly our Aussie Prime Minister speaks mandarin and he was in China last week, he even told a few jokes which had chinese students laughing.
This is very interesting news to me
The program looks interesting even for me!
I click on the link to the program but it keeps loading without anything. Anywhere else I can find this program on the net?
A lot of those words, I CAN’T even read!!! *runs.off.to.hide*
My daughter’s Chinese teacher always call me up to complain on her Chinese. Her å¬å†™ always 鸡蛋
there is no link to the program. i took a video of benghui reading the cd his teacher gives him. he has many such cds. they help a lot in word recognition and he is reading chinese story books n comics nowadays as he gets more literate in the language with some words beyond the standard of the language taught in his school. However he night not know what he is reading. But as he keeps reading outside material, this new words stick in his mind.
I can’t read but I can speak. Not totally banana here. Ha ha…
I think it is best to learn language from young age.
so u r saying u r half a banana?
Ah, from what I can tell the vid above is laying good foundation with science related words. I’m pretty sure he’s learning a lot, even my vocab isn’t as deep.
Haven’t seen some of those words for a while since dun really use those words that often as I normally read the English papers and those words aren’t definitely used regularly in daily conversational chinese but it helps in the enrichment of his language.
As for outside reading material, mine used to be “doraemon” and “lao fu tze/old master Q” since they didn’t have such things back then and my parents didn’t know chinese also :-p a
maybe that explains why he loves the tuition class so much. and I don’t know chinese too and he would brag and teach me. thanks for the feedback. i had no idea at all what the words meant
I happened to be at a cd shop yesterday and was browsing through some Chinese language cds for primary school kids. I managed to get a hanyu pinyin one for her
But I think both of them are more interested in La Pi Xiao Xin and Doraemon cds. LOL~
but the hanyu pinyin will b good in the long term.u jus wait n c
hahaha,

i’m not chinese so i have no idea at all about these
but i know how to speak simple chinese
i hope i can learn chinese one day
and study in the same class with Benghui perhaps, hehehe
