Burglaries, cctv, burglar alarms, thieves and robbers

A friend has just been robbed. Burglaries are so common nowadays few people would bother to listen or read about it anyway. The only reason I am blogging about it is he told me he was shocked how the burglars could ransack the room with him and his wife and three little kids without waking up any of them.

He further added he was glad anyway he didn’t wake up as it could have been a difficult and dangerous situation. He further added he feels very sleepy now whenever he lies down on his bed. Some people would be quick to suggest black magic or special chants. I suspect some kind of drug was involved. Perhaps the remnants of the drug are still on his mattress or blanket thus he feels sleepy whenever he goes near his bed.

Apparently the alarm had sounded for a few seconds but they thought nothing of it as it sometimes malfunctioned.

The superstitious believe that some prayers are chanted by the burglars which make eyes close in deep sleep. So they believe rearing fish which never close their eyes would thwart thieves into thinking there are people still awake.

Don’t expect a thief to look like a thief though. A neighbour apparently had seen a suspicious character around but didn’t think much of it. His description of the burglar is , ” Looked perfectly decent with a white shirt with some green colour on it. Aged late twenties to early thirties, smartly dressed with nice trousers” and apparently looked like one he would hesitate to accuse. CCTVs are not always much use as the thieves would have long gone before you view the tape and they would have covered themselves up anyway.

The only thing I can add is to protect your home as best as you can. Use your commonsense and be aware of all that is going on around you e.g. a neighbor moved away leaving a nearby house vacant etc. They can easily come over via the roof or ceiling. It would help if you lock your room too while you are sleeping.

the important is all family members are safe.

last time my sister in law teach me that if your house is really poor and nothing can be take away, you put some money on the table. so that the thief won’t be angry and hurt you. lolz.~~

wah! black magic used when raiding houses! that’s something new.

just last week, my auntie’s house in JB was broken in. they stole the “xiang-lu” (the container for joss sticks). my auntie’s heart broke into a zillion pieces, it was an antique huge one like those in temples!
the funny thing, how did they managed to carry the thing across the high fence/gate?
plus of all things, they took the “xiang-lu” we concluded that they might not be Chinese. *sighz*

I am always worry about the safety of my family, especially my parents who I am not staying with. I dun know what is the policemen doing at the moment, but no doubt they can do nothing much too. Ppl are getting poorer and lazier. The easiest way is to take other’s fortune. If they are caught, nvm lor, the jail provides them with shelter and food. Seriously, I heard of ppl just wanna stay in jail and do not want to go out at all. If they are free, they will purposely do some crime so that the government will lock them up again. I think the garment should think of something like the one in Indonesia. I was told that the jail’s condition is like hell and really not livable. That way, ppl will know that life outside is better than staying in jail.
