The party is over. The guests have left. Under normal circumstances there is the chore of clearing up the mess. But in this case, the spring of well wishers have dried up but the patient is still in the hospital.
It costs a lot to be in a private medical facility in Malaysia. On average in extreme situations, the charges per day may fluctuate between Rm3000 to Rm7000 for basic maintenance of a patient excluding surgical procedures. This translates to an average of Rm90000 to Rm210000 per month. If the patient survives this will escalate to a range of Rm1080000 to Rm2520000 per year.
So the dilemma is what would a family do under these present circumstances? When the general hospital is no longer an option, private hospitals are way beyond our means, what then? My advise to everybody is to buy as much medical insurance as you can possibly afford. You cannot afford not to. For yourself and your loved ones.
