Sweet potatoes for breakfast
Daisy: Bengbeng. Amy ( Mrs BB ) is not here? Wuah you are so clever you prepare breakfast for Benghui. Alamak! What are you doing? Alamak! What is this? Sweet potato? Aiya it should not be eaten like this lah. You must remove the skin. Boil it in water and add some sugar so that it will taste better. Add also some yam and red beans.
It should never be eaten like this.
You must get an Indonesian maid. I have two. Your house is so big. You need at least onelah. What is money? You cannot bring money to the grave onelah. Siaulah ( crazylah u ). Poor Benghui. tsk* tsk*
( I don’t know about her opinion but we have been eating it like this for ages ever since I was a child
. We wash the sweet potato thoroughly and steam it. Anyway moments after her comment, Benghui finished the sweet potatoes. )
Kampua noodle pic borrowed from neo
Daisy : Next time, just go to buy some kampua lah. Don’t be so lazy. Benghui is a growing child.

I’m curious. What’s Kampua?
As long as you wash it clean, perfectly alright to eat with the sweet potato skin. Just like potatoes, the skin is actually nutritious!
LC : kampua is the local equivalent of SP wantan mee i think.
tigerfish : with skin i think it tastes even better too
bb, my mama also boiled like tat la.. yummy ley but of cos when eat i peeled off the skin.
i too lazy to peel
Eating sweet potato is good. I love to eat the sweet potato desserts.. yummy~
i miss u. i must visit u soon
wah… sweet potatoes makes me drools, hehehe… we used to boil with skin too leh, i thought if you removed the skin, it will become not firm or lembik one?
anyway, i prefer sweet potatoes over kampua mee, agree or not Bro BB?
i dont like kampua except jus to fill the stomach when necessary. i prefer sweet potato
I’ve been eating sweet potatoes with skin too. Tasty!
You get the full benefit of the nutrients in the sweet potato by steaming.
My kids like their sweet potatoes baked (wrapped in foil) in the oven or over the bbq. I grew up with ‘huan choo ting’ and never liked it very much but I love baked sweet potatoes and bbq sweet potatoes.
Each to their own hor, Bengbeng.
As long as Benghui loves it, cook it the way he loves it.
I love steamed potatoes…I steamed it in the electric rice cooker when cooking rice…..just put it on top of rice…
