school shoes

What you see here are four pairs of innocent-looking shoes :). The scenario repeats itself every weekend. I will remind him to wash his school shoes. I will nag and nag until he does it. If he had a choice, the shoes would never be washed until a century from now.

My wife asked me why not just do it for him and it would be cleaner unlike its present state and condition. The reason is that I want to teach him to be self reliant and not to take us for granted. So that he will appreciate what we do for him and that we are not his personal maids and assistants. :)

dying bees

This morning I woke up and found lots of giddy bees all over my compound dying. There is a smell in the air. I wonder what is happening. Is it because of the haze or is it because of a local situation. It is weird. I had to sweep the whole compound as to step on them would cause much pain as their stings are still potent.

GUILTY! :D I remember my schooldays too. Now, the history repeat itself ‘coz I’m the one nagging my kids to wash their shoes *grin*

Perhaps the dying insects are due to the unwashed shoes :)

nice one for today’s theme… the movie Sx and the City changed New York to New Yorks— become a big shoe store now… LOL!

LOL, I am laughing at archiearchive’s comment!!
It won’t hurt your child to do things on his own.

Theres a lesson to be learned there,…. I think YOU are on the right track! And, I think they need to wear those clean shoes,….. so as not to get stung with all those bees laying around. Have a good weekend!

Great getting your boy to be responsible, BB.

Seems to me once you wash a pair of shoes they never feel the same again, though…

I was wondering the connection between the shoes and the bees and like archiearchive’s humor.

Are school shoes changed from white to blue? I remember mine were white. I second your son washing his shoes too. When my brother stayed with me, I requested him to hand wash his shoes. He complained that I was not as good as my mom who would do everything for him. My husband just throws a pair of shoes into the washing machine and then into the dryer. However, this method is damaging to the rubber and they tend to fall apart after a couple of washes. I think “hand machine” is still the best for scrubbing shoes.

when i went to take pic of the shoes we found lots of bees all over the place so I blogged the story of the bees in :)

My kids don’t want to clean their own shoes, either… but they must if they want them clean LOL The only time they really require much effort when cleaning is if they accidentally step in dog crap LOL

I hate to b in their shoes when thery step on dog crap :)
