Photographs of one of the last uncontacted indigenous tribes in Brazil Peru border
One of South America’s few remaining uncontacted indigenous tribes has been spotted and photographed on the border between Brazil and Peru.
The romantic side of me wonders how life must be like for them but in a second the notion is gone. Where are the comforts we take for granted every day? The medical security net which our governments provide, basic food available upon payment, wages in exchange for an honest day’s work.
The pictures, taken from an aeroplane, show red-painted tribe members brandishing bows and arrows.
Disease is also a risk, as members of tribal groups that have been contacted in the past have died of illnesses that they have no defence against, ranging from chicken pox to the common cold.

A lot is yet to be discovered.
They really look threatened, scared out of their wits.
I imagine to them an airplane must indeed b very threatening
wei! don’t go down there or they’ll eat you!
we dont know but who knows?
wah beng beng also intro anthropology liao? interesting article. but yes, every day there are ethnic races, their languages and cultures slowly facing the process of elimination, i do feel sad too, but to judge what they forsake like science medicine and all is not something we should do, if they choose to upkeep to their traditions, that is their way of life. In fact, i would rather they do that, to prolong the process of recording their story. but still, you are right, there must be something to find a way to integrate their lifestyle to a better standard of living without affecting their daily lifestyle.
sigh……….they still got a long way to go
