Caught in the act by the camera

in heat dog

I have a big headache indeed. This neighbor’s dog can enter my compound any time it wants. Look at the pic. The fence is nothing to him. When I heard my female dog barking in fright, I rushed out and shooed it away. It left the compound in a matter of seconds. It was fortunate I happened to have my camera in hand.

It now enters and leaves the house compound at will. It is my misfortune to have a young, sexy hound at home. :(

School children holiday restlessness, the reading habit and SMC library

Now that it is school vacation, Benghui finds it boring to be in the house all day. There are no nearby kids and the neighbours generally just keep in their own compounds anyway.

Bonsai, nasi beryani and true love

bonsai

Last night we went to see a bonsai exhibition. The flower pots and bonsai were selling for a fraction of the prize. I was so tempted to buy but I reminded myself Oopi would destroy the bonsai in a day. Georgeous stuff selling for as low as Rm12.00 a plant and big impressive looking flower pots direct from China at Rm50.00 each. Last night was the last night and they had to clear stock.

Bengbeng meets Sibu China massage girl

We planned to go for supper but ended up in a reflexology center. I was a bit apprehensive as it was my first time ;) . Guess what? I met four of my friends there :) The reception area was brightly lit and overall the decor was bright and cheerful with lots of Chinese trappings and colorful flowers in a vase.

Green Thumb Sunday-garden weed

close up wild flower

A beautiful flower?

wild flower

Nature doesn’t discriminate. Look at this simple flower. It looks beautiful. Yet it has no function at all. It is a common weed in the garden and is a hardy plant. The plant was growing all around the stump of my red palm.

Weekend snapshot : flowers on a balcony

balcony flowers

Pic shows fu kui hua or literally translated high-class prosperity flower on the 1st floor balcony of a building next to Garden Hotel. I think it is beautiful and very creative of the house owner. It brightens up not only the apartment but the whole area.

However I wouldn’t want to stand directly beneath the apartment should a strong wind be blowing.:)

Have a great week ahead every body.

Apply to convert to freehold status, Lim Guan Eng tells landowners

It happened in Penang :

The residential leasehold landowners in the Pearl of the Orient, Penang were told that they can begin applying to the state government to convert the government land into freehold by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng. He said the state was studying a new land policy, which would allow the 30-year, 60-year or 99-year leasehold land be converted into freehold land on a case-by-case basis. He further added, “We are also looking into allowing the tenure of leasehold industrial land owned by the state government to be extended from 60 years to 99 years. Those given the approval must, of course, pay the land premium,” he said. He elaborated that the state government has to make sure first that this policy is in compliance with the National Land Code.

A pot of gold at the end of the rainbow

Somebody I chatted with tonight told me my life was incomplete. He was patronizing. He said, “It has to be more than what I am experiencing. Small town life is limited and not challenging.” “It couldn’t be fun.” he insisted. Anyway I have no regrets with the way I live my life. Every day on earth is a bonus from God.
