Crater Lake National Park

Hi every body,

It has been some time since I contributed anything here. I still haven’t had a chance to go out in the boat. It is still in the 50s when the temperature should be reaching 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

river with dad

This is me with dad. I was joking with Bengbeng. He thinks he is overweight at 170lbs. I am 220 lbs. My dad is 240 lbs. :)

bobcat

Recently I saw a bob cat in my garden. Bengbeng thought a bob cat is like the Malaysian domestic cat. When small it may look cute, but it can kill. I surprised it when we suddenly sensed each other. I hadn’t realized the danger I was in until it was too late. Fortunately nothing happened.

crater_lake

This is Crater Lake. It is very beautiful. 1,943 feet (592 meters) deep, is the seventh deepest lake in the world and the deepest in the United States. No place else on earth combines a deep, pure lake, so blue in color; sheer surrounding cliffs, almost two thousand feet high; a picturesque island; and a violent volcanic past. Few places on earth are so beautiful, or so interesting to scientists.

Is this a meteoritic crater or volcanic crater??

In Maharashtra, India, we have a meteoritic crater. It was formed by e neteorite hit many many years back. I have shared it in my blog.

it is a volcanic crater :)

I didn’t post the reason, but Crater Lake is near the head waters of the Rogue River, and that areas around the lake feeds the Rogue River as it runs down the canyon adjacent to Highway 62.
