Green Thumb Sunday-kailan

green thumb sunday

vegetable bed

Anything to stretch the ringgit our local currency. What we see here is a bed full of ‘kailan’. It is an arrangement between me and another man. He gives me a share of his harvest for a little assistance , friendship, good will and use of unused land :) He plants other stuff too but it is too late at night to take good photos.

kailan

kaile( taken in the morning-update )

We have been eating it until we are bored already. :)

curry chicken noodles

If we don’t eat it, it will spoil in a matter of days. Even in curry chicken noodles, I use the same vegetables :)

Hey good idea! Can ask your friend to sell the extra ones.

I’m not certain, but I believe we don’t have kailan in the states. I probably just never heard about it.

    Curry noodles looks good.

I’ve never heard of this veggie. What does it taste like? It looks like beet greens. Happy GTS,

I looked this up on the internet and the said we call it Chinese Cabbage or Chinese Kale. I don’t suppose you have “cold” rooms made below the earth to store your fresh veggies in?

I must say that it looks yummy. I don’t recognize what kind of veggie it is though. It’s so interesting to see plants from other countries. Your country is so beautiful.

Once, in 2005, we had a trip booked to Malaysia, but had to cancel it. It was on the west coast we planned to stay and the Tsunami did hit right there - and we both got pneumonia (what is the odds for that?!), so we didn’t go. Which was wise because it took us half a year to get well…

Then about a month ago, we got very tempted to book a trip to Borneo (I love Orang Utan’s) and then further with the domestic flights to see more of Malaysia, but it were with too short notice and should have been too expensive.

Now we’re tempted go to Malaysia & Philippines in the beginning of next year. We have many friends that goes to Mindoro every year and love it. We’ll see how it goes!

    Thanks for stopping by :-)
