Jay Chou cannot compare with Teresa Teng :)
Somebody told me my tastes are so retro. 
I was told on msn chat my tastes in music leaves her feeling restful and ready to go to sleep especially the post about Teresa Teng. To be honest I have goosebumps when I hear her voice. She remains one of Taiwan’s greatest treasures. I have heard others trying to imitate her or doing their own versions of her song. They never come near.
This syt ( sweet young thing ) told me to update myself lest I be relegated to the dinosaur heap of the blogosphere hopelessly outdated :). I take consolation she was definitely joking. The newest sensation she absolutely would die for is Jay Chou. Frankly after listening to him, the feeling of awe isn’t there. I don’t know what it is.
Mrs BB says it is because I am stuck in the yesteryears and have no more room in my life for new favorites. Perhaps she is right. She says Jay Chou is handsome and sings exceptionally well. Well, no, I am not jealous. I think Teresa Teng was sexy too anyway

He is, but his music is refreshing and innovative.i, I like Teresa Teng too and I’m in my 30’s. She is the best Chinese singer in the world. Even when Faye Wong sang her songs in one of Faye’s best selling albums, she did not quite reach Teresa’s level.
But, and here’s a big BUT, I also like listening to Jay Chou. I don’t care how handsome h Combining Western and Chinese instruments is his forte. His voice is not really that great, but he’s super talented.

To b honest, I think my ‘love’ for Teresa Teng’s singing is on the verge of a fetish. 
Talk about comparing apples and oranges. Everyone has his own tastes. I’m with you for Teresa Teng. I enjoy Emil Chou’s ‘Flower Heart’& ‘Friends’. I think Stephanie Sun’s a great performer. So is Michael Wong. But I can’t stand Wong Lee Hom, handsome no doubt, but to me, he sucks. But I still love Frank Sintra, Elvis, Johnny Cash, etc.
It’s all a matter of taste. Nothing to do with age.
