Stubborn belly fat, dieting and tips for a flat stomach

45 day progress report

belly3

I have been on a self devised fitness program since July 5th this year. ( 45 days already ) Getting fit is easier said than done :) Sometimes I feel I want to give up. There is the time consideration, the expense and of course finding the energy to go through all these work out routines a few times a week.

There was also the problem of motivation. Anyway I started off the program very unfit, huffing and puffing if I had to climb several levels of stairs. I had accumulated decades of belly fat, had loose unused muscles all over. To make it worse, I had an accumulation of fat all over in the most unexpected places. According to the Body Mass Index scale, I was at a scale of 25.8 or in the plump category.

I tested yesterday for the Body Mass Index scale ( using measurements of folds of body fat in the chest, thigh and belly ) and tested 18.9 still in the plump category but much better now. To make my program work, I had to cut down on food after 7.00p.m and stopped taking kampua ( a noodle type of food ). Other than that, everything else remained the same except perhaps for sleep. After gym, I find i sleep exceedingly well and wake up refreshed. I also had to resort to adding vegetables and fruits on a daily basis to stave off my hunger because working out made me very hungry. Protein shakes did help.

My progress report after 45 days : I have lost some weight perhaps 4 kg. To me, I think it is mostly around the belly area. The rest of my body seems to be getting toned up too. I find I am less flabby as compared to before. I have another 45 days before i finish this fitness program. I hope I will be super healthy and fit by then. :)

crunchescrunches1

I used this plank and the above bench/cruncher to do crunches a few times a week. I normally did three sets of crunches but I never did side crunches. I never got the knack of doing it hence the excess love handles. That will be my next target.

belly fat2 Love handles.

Readers, I encourage you to lead a more healthy life-style. It saves money at the end of the day in terms of medical bills etc. ( touch wood :) )

U R doing good, Beng. Since muscles are 1.5 times heavier than fat, at some point u will find that the scale won’t move or might even go up. Don’t worry, just go by how u look in the mirror and how ur clothes fit. :) Have a good wknd.

Mrs Flyfisher, it is always such a pleasure to receive a comment from u :) Controlling the abs is a very difficult task in spite of all the crunches bcoz of all the lovely malaysian food available in a short radius from my home. :) I doubt i will lose much weight in the future :) have a good weekend

I am working hard at recently as well. But, I didn’t join any kind of program. I only join the cardio classes and some workout.

I can’t control in food. I am still taking rice :( and didn’t take any protien shake.

i jus love food so it is extra difficult to b in control :)

I too sleep very well after gym, I think all those workouts are really hard work, that’s why you can sleep much easier. I also feel hungry easily after my workouts, so I have to eat a bit more than usual. Adding more fruits and vegetables is a good idea as they contain more fibre and that will help to keep you full longer. Protein shakes are definitely helpful cos our body need protein to build and repair muscles. Just cut down on carbs and fat especially during dinner.
Congrats on your progress - keep it up! : )

want to make it till day 100th :)
