Anwar Ibrahim is back

Anwar garnered 31,195 votes while BN’s Arif Shah Omar Shah got 15,524 votes, giving Anwar a thumping majority of 15,671 votes. This landslide victory brought a range of emotions amongst my freinds and acquaintances depending on their political leanings.

However almost all were surprised with the huge majority. As one of my friends put it, ” It came as a total surprise after watching the news on the telly for the past few weeks, reading the newspapers and listening to the radio. “

I’m not really surprised with the huge majority. BN made a bad move with the sodomy allegation - why pull the same trick twice? Also bad timing with Anwar’s arrest and Saiful’s swearing on the Quran. It’s too unbelievable. Also, who can believe that a 23 year old man can get sodomised by a 61 year old man against his will and a few times at that?

to b honest, i oso think it is impossible to have happened without cooperation given the medical problem n the huge age difference

I will always remember that memorable line reportedly said by an old man in Permatang Pauh, “You just don’t go into someone’s home and say bad things about his son.”

Those r words not to b taken lightly n proven by the landslide majority
