Character :16 yr old , face made up, black singlet and pink shorts ( good results in the PMR examinations )
Bengbeng: Surprised to see you here. Shouldn’t you be in school or something?
Jane : Not in the mood today. It is all my mother’s fault. I have been so busy with my job. ( part-time waitress ) I am not in the mood to pass up my course work. My teacher has been pestering me about it as she says it is important for my SPM examinations. It is still a year away. Who knows if I will still be alive then? She is soooo boring. Already in the thirties and still not married! She wore a frilly maroon skirt? Can you imagine how no taste she has?
My teacher telephoned my mother and the stupid woman went to school to meet the teacher. The busy body teacher told my mum I didn’t do my course work and lent her a sample course work so that she can guide me at home. My stupid mother made me lose face. She copied the whole course work and made so many mistakes. She sent it personally to the teacher. I didn’t know she had done that. I had already told my mum sampai mati oso I won’t do it ( until death also I won’t do it )
My teacher smiled at me and said she was glad I had listened to my mum. Almost friendly like. My friends giggled and laughed at me. I was so embarrassed and angry. She then returned the coursework and asked me to correct it and send it again later. There were so many many mistakes.
I have already told my mother I will leave school after Form 5.
( Note: as far as I know the mother is illiterate in English. She probably copied the course work alphabet by alphabet, page by page. It must have taken her days. )
Before anybody points any accusing fingers, I think this is just a temporary hiccup in life. Life is a long journey. The mum has probably been doing a wonderful job. Which mum doesn’t? Every mum loves her child. A teenager, an adolescent : they need time to grow up, find their own space. It is just a phase in their life. The key is not to get too involved in the process but leave room to all parties to work out a solution. It is not yet time for panic. The worse thing to do would be to hold screaming matches and impose rules and regulations that no longer work on a 16 year old.

Not to point any fingers, but I think give birth to a char siew will be more useful.
char siew is cantonese?
i think she’s just being rebellious…is Jane from single parent family?
that i am not sure
Probably Jane will regret & appreciate her mom who could be 6 feet underground oredi by that time Jane herself became a mom herself & miss all that her mom had sacrificed for her!!!!
funny thing is this morning i suddenly remembered my mum and all she had done for us, her brood without any selfish thoughts for her own comfort. we so shamelessly took her for granted and God took her away so early
