For this week’s hunt I submit the following. Popular breakfast dishes in Malaysia.

From Sarikei

This is kongpia. It is a dough like bun and is very filling. In the olden days, it was baked in earthen pots but nowadays for convenience sake, it is sometimes baked in electric ovens. To me, the taste is not much different although some have a preference for kongpia cooked the traditional manner.

I was told by an old man that a few decades ago, farmers in the interior regions made a hole in kongpia like these and tied them around the waist with a string. They would then consume one whenever they felt hungry.

Noodles is every body’s favorite. :)

This is a dish I discovered today. I bought a few and dipped it into sauce and discovered I like it very much. It is called keropok lekor

I like learning what people from around the world eat for breakfast. Your kongpia looks like donuts we eat here. Are they sweet tasting?

Noodles are very easly to prepare, the instant ones most especially. Maybe that’s why it’s really popular.
