This morning, I jumped at the chance to follow Rubberseeds and Steve to Sarikei. William was our gracious host. Thanks, William!!! Much appreciated. They are excellent photographers and there is much that I have yet to learn from them.

Anyway look at the pic of the boys with pineapples. Sarikei is the land of the pineapples.

We managed to save some time as the ferry across the Nyelong River is no longer operational. There is this bridge across the river now. No more queuing. It was free some more :) Pic shows Philip taking a pic.

Sarikei was more busy than usual. I saw this colorful inflatable thingy and assumed correctly that this is the site of the Pineapple Festival.

While the politicians were busy doing their stuff, we decided to stroll around the town and capture the sights.

My heart almost skipped a beat when this attractive lady smiled at me. But oops, mistake!!!! She was smiling at Philip. :(

I think she has captured my heart :) I must be in love or perhaps it is just mid-life crisis. :) She is an announcer/dj or news reader or something with RTM Sibu, Chinese section. It confirmed a popular myth that all those lovely voices on RTM Sibu are accompanied by good looks too. From now on, I shall leave my radio on 24 hours a day . ;)

A little boy was sitting beside these insects made of thrown away paper and black plastic garbage bags. Isn’t it cool? Making something useful out of trash.

I just couldn’t resist taking this pic. He has such an adorable smile.

Traditional drums were also on sale.

A little girl sitting next to some cat fish which she is helping her mother to sell.

This man is an excellent salesman. I almost bought stuff from him until I realized I didn’t bring much money.

To be continued ………………
